In Phonescoops VX8000 forum it's sounding like the 8000 may be coming out sooner than expected, maybe by the end of this year. Given the fact that the 8000 doesn't have Bluetooth but sports internal and external 262,000-color displays and works with 3G 1xEvDO (DSL speeds) networks. Which would be the better phone to go with? The V710 or wait for the VX8000.

ummm the one you get first....lol

hmmm everyone always says what phone is better...what phone is better.

i say what phones features you going to use more. do you need BT and if you get a phone with BT you going to use it. if not and the VX8000 suits your needs go with it. if you want BT and the other features of the V710 then buy it. me i WANT BT so i will go with the V710

just my 2 cents

i think the V710 is a much more aesthetically pleasing phone then the 8000. I personally wouldn't use the BT. But i still think that I would go with the V710 also.

Heres the problem:no one is sure when the EV-DO network will launch. they sya it will launch late third quater..however like everything else with verizon, it takes much longer...plus this 3G system will toast all other networks so they are going to want to have the coverage availability for it..WITH ALL THIS SAID: IF THE EV-DO IS NOT LAUNCHED by the time the 8000 comes out then the phone is useless.

So Guess What! If that's the case and the past is the key to the present then the phone will simply not come out. ..... Like the 710 and the 9900. 🤣

Does anyone have any credible evidence or experience to support the recent speculation that the v710 could be EV-DO enabled throught a firmware update?

As mentioned before, if this is true then the vx8000 could be obsolete even before it arrives, thus motivating an earlier release of the vx8000...

the 8000 also has a better camera (CCD) as apposed to the lower quality CMOS which the v710 has. I believe the 8000 will be one of the first camera phones to sport a camera with an actual CCD.

CDD isn't neccessarily (can't spell 😕 ) better than CMOS. Newer CMOS cameras can match the quality of a CCD camera. And the 8000 will be the first CCD camera phone, so there is a chance that the camera will be around the same quality of the v710's.

Is anyone here seriously that concerned with the quality of the camera on these two phones?? Lets be serious, no one in their right mind would use a camera phone with a 10 foot flash to do any real pic taking. You can buy digitial cameras just as small, if not smaller, and for less that take much better quality photos. Personally, I only want either the 8000 or 710 for the mp3 ringtone so I can have ridiculous songs as my ringer (i.e, "Scotty Doesnt know" from Europtrip)

Zach,The has basically all the features of the 8000 (if not, more.) And it has a more stylish design (inside and out.) So you should go with the 710.

I am "seriously concerned with the quality of the camera on these two phones." I am a college student so when I go out to bars or parties I like take my bulky 4mp canon s45 so I can capture those moments I might otherwise not remember. A 4mp camera is overkill for this so if either of these 2 phones had a decent 1mp camera it would serve to replace my camera which would be one less thing for me to worry about while inebriated.

It is quite obvious that the 8000 takes way better pictures than the v710! Scroll to the bottom of the 8000 forum or the 2nd page and look for a thread titled "WOW 8000 in action" it has Videos of the korean model in action but the 8000 is basically the same phone. One of the neat features I noticed was that you can pan and zoom in on pictures taken w/ the 8000 and let me tell you the quality of the camera is stellar. The people who aren't i...
