it's size, i know that you have to compromise because the phone has so many features but this phone is about the same size as the nextel motorola's, and i didnt like how those were so big. anyway i will be buying this phone when it comes out... 250 minus my new every two the phone will come out to $150. im happy that verizon is giving a good price on the phone AT&T is still selling the v600 for $300 with a 2 years agreement.

It's .2 inches longer and .06 inches wider than the T720. Not a real significant difference in my opinon.

The official joint press release from Motorola and VZW states the phone will be $249 after a $70 rebate. That puts the price of the phone, before rebate, at $319 with a two year contract. Hmmmm. I wonder who has got it right? 😎

To me $299 before the rebate sounds more likely than $319. You know how Verizon prominently displays the 2 year contract price next to the phones in the retail stores. I doubt they'll want to put a price over $300 on a non PDA/non Smartphone which might scare people away from it, even if there is a $70 rebate on it. Keep in mind that Motorola put out that press release with the prices, not Verizon, so if Verizon decided to charge less, it's not going to make ...

Can you renew and get the same deal? Or do they only offer those rebates to people signing up for new service?

Im pretty sure that price (with rebates) is only available to people who are eligible for an upgrade or new customers. I will have to pay full boat for it 😛

I'm eligible for an upgrade since my contract is up. I thought that maybe they might not give the same amount of rebates for a renewal as a new customer since I don't think they get as much commission. I'm just not sure I want t...

I'm not buying that phone on the release date. I'm waiting for 2 to 3 weeks, to get some reaction from users. I don't mind waiting until V710 gets to Circuit City, besides they get the phones pretty quick. I'm pretty skeptic with Moto phones after using T720 for couple of months. 😡

brianatverizon is one of the "inside helpers" for this forum. He shares information straight from the horses mouth so to speak. Due to his sources, he probably doesnt read the forum that much becuase he knows that if he hasnt seen nor heard about it, that it is probably bs. That press release was just that, a press release. Those are very often NOT final draft type things. If Brian is seeing 299, then chances are pretty good that the phone is 299 before the 70 rebate.

Thanks for the info Brian. I do have a question if you don't mind:

If there is a $70 rebate, and there is a $100 credit for the NE2 upgrade, does that $70 eat into that $100 credit (giving only a $30 discount over others), or is it a full $170 discount over the retail?

something tells me it'll be $299 with a 2-year and possibly a $50 mail-in rebate, making it $249...

thats what they did with my v60i, so i'm taking a stab at it. dont quote me. call me an idiot if you want, its just my personal opinion, i could be wrong...

brianatverizon,

Is it possible that the following can happen?

1. The v710 arrives at different Verizon stores on different days and different stores get different quantities of phones to sell?

2. Some stores may release (sell) phones before the public "release date", like they did on the LG VX-7000?

3. If any of these cases are true, then someone could possibly walk into their local store a few days before the "rumored" release date and purchase the v710?

Thanks for your responses!

I disagree.

I think the phone may be a hair bigger than I would personally want it, but other than that it is fine. I personally like the size of the t720 and lg vx6000/4500, and the the v710 is only a tiny bit bigger.

one thing I didnt like about the motorola nextels was that the phones were larger and thicker, yet the screens were so small. this phone will be much thinner than nextel phones, and the display will be much larger.

i just want the damn thing to hurry up and be released 😁
