V710 FORUM SITE
so we all know the v710 is about to come out. All of us in this forum have so much info,tips, hints, just plain common discussion to share with eachother. I think that we should all make and unofficial v710 website/ forum for all us users out here so we can continue to share information but in a more organized. Everyone just think about a wesbsite just for our v710's. If anyone out there knows any graphic web designers or if you are 1 lets all colaborate to make sumthin amazine and keep the knowledge flowin

I actually have the domain http://www.v710.net reserved already, with my parking page up.
I have recently started hosting on my own connection, and can use help from anyone currently doing the same with Apache, PHP, and CGI. This is a temporary setup at the moment, at least for this domain.
My current thoughts were to have a multi-moderated forum, tips&tricks, phone mods, bluetooth discussions, and topics such as programs that are like GAGIN and BitPim, along with an opt-in email newsletter service.
Again if you are at all experienced in managing your own server and apache with modules, and programming please contact me.
Realistic Suggestions are always welcome.

To be safe, I would contact Motorola about using any pictures or graphics from their web site. You could get into a legal thing if you don't ask permission first. After all, they did pay someone big bucks to design them for themselves.

Another forum would be a great idea. The format of the Phone Scoop forums is horrendous even if it is fast loading. I'd definitely prefer a more organized forum. I'd suggest PHP BB which is a free bulletin board system which can be easily integrated with Coppermine photo gallery so users could upload pics they take with the phone as well.

Yeah, I've been mighty impressed with some of the PHP BB forums.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for additional forums on the same topic. Was just pointing out that I think this one will be fine once the v710 is released AND that otehr forums are welcome too.

The problem lies in the fact that this board lacks a thread view (or am I just missing it???) and doesn't appear searchable, or able to be organized by subject matter at all.

Look at the top of the Main Forum page. "View Options" will allow you to customize your views.
I think the default shoule be one of the thread view options. For the first month I was reading this forum I was going crazy.

Why don't we just get howard to create a subsection just for the v710?? Not a sticky, but a whole other section??? Has anyone thought about asking him/them??? You know we have the interest!!

There's not enough interest in a section dedicated to one specific model phone -- Check out how the site is set up. In any event, give it four months, and the section would die. This way, each section is perpetually uodated with new phones without setting up new sections.
