personally I found these pics to be very impressive. Enough to make me seriously consider waiting for the release of the 8000. I wonder how the quality of the 710 pics will stack up to the CDD of the 8000

a camera is a nice feature, but sholden't be the desiding factor. Its a phone. Go buy a digital camera if you want to take good pics. and you don't have to sign a 2 year contract + $$$$ to send them to your computer.

convergence...a beautiful thing, why do i want to carry a bulky digital camera around with me all the time. I have a nice canon 4MP digicam when I want to go out and shoot some serious photos but for everyday stuff, this camera/phone is a great combo

hmmm...your canon A70 s330 or s200? which does not fit as nicly in your pocket as a vx8000 or even a v710. even if its close your still gonna have to have the camera + a cell phone

Definitely not from the vx8000, even hi end 4 mp cameras dont make such a nice job, u need special lenses for it, look at the closeups, unless they r altered in photoshop and enlarged then maybe, but i doubt it.

Yea i saw that also. The vx8000 has a 1.3 mp camera. And the v710 has a 1.2 mp camera. (Even though the vx8000's is a CCD , newer CMOS cameras can match the quality of a CCD camera.) So hopefully the v710's picture is also really good quality. 😁

I agree it should not be a factor in purchasing a stupid phone! If you want a high quality digital images, a digital is the way to go. I wish I could get the V710 with out it. Why would I want to pay an extra $5 a month just to have to the capability to send a picture? I've had my VX6000 for over a year now and have only taken one picture with it so I could change my phone's wallpaper. Seems a like a lame reason considering the other capabilities that come with the phone. Just my two cents.

that is your opinion...which you are entitled too. I am actually looking for a device which does a nice job of combining a great phone with a good digicam...both the v710 and the vx8000 seem to do just that. Like I said before...

good point..given motorolla's proven track record in the quality phone market. So what if the LG looks/feels plasticly, if it is a great quality phone, which is reliable and offers superior battery life, ie vx6000.

I started this thread just to show people who were interested in camera phones the quality of the pics of the vx8000..mindless hardcore moto fans need not respond with their irrelevant opinions. I am only looking for opinions of open minded individuals interested in a camera phone with a camera that doesn't produce pics with pixels the size of legos.

Why is it so important to you what other people spend their own money on? If you are happy with the vx8000, then by all means go with it once it comes out. You keep posting the same thing over and over again just said it different ways!

I actually created the thread, my intention was only to have people see the impressive quality of the vx8000 pics. People replied attacking the phone for its "cheap plastic feel" and lack of blue tooth. Someone even told me that I should not base my decision to by a phone on its camera.

Why did you post it in a forum dedicated to the v710?!?

What sort of response did you expect?

I was just suggesting this as another option only for people who were intersted in a highly capabale camera phone. the v710 having a 1MP camera albeit non CCD seemed like it woudl attract ppl because of the camrea (and for ALOT of other reasons obviously) I didn't think it was going to be this big of a deal, as far as I know there are still a lot of ppl who havn't decided one way or another on the 710 or the 8000, so I know this might sound abstract but not everyone who reads this 710 forum is 100% sold on the 710.

yea, I'm not 100% sold on the 8000, i'm just curious about the camera, the v710 has a lot of other nice options. There is one thing in the back of my head though, i have been very unhappy with several older moto phones I've owned. the v120c and the v60c, I know they are old but after owning both I swore up and down I would never own another moto phone again, that being said...when the v710 came out it attracted my attention enough to make me reconsider, I just have to admit that I am a little uneasy goin to another moto

I wanted to like the LG VX7000. In fact I went down to Verizon 2 weeks ago with the sole purpose of buying one for the 15 day trial. After playing around for about 20 minutes with the demo I decided to leave it and not buy it.

Sorry but I can't get past that cheap feel to it. Esp. that rotating camera piece. Its so flimsy!

I also want Bluetooth which neither the 7000 or 8000 have.

It also looks like a total kid's toy. One guy next to me said it looked like a real homeboy phone. Whatever that means.

I do agree that bluetooth would be nice, but lets not forget that we're not getting full bluetooth funcionality in the 710, we're getting a dumbed down verizon version. For me, having a wire between my headset and my phone is a price I'm willing to pay for a camera phone that takes suppior pics. that being said, once the v710 comes out and I see the pics...if they are of good quality i will prob go for the 710 because of all the other nice features ie transflash etc.

In my personal opinion, one of the main features I like about the 8000 over the 710 is the external screen with 262k colors. I've heard the external screen for the 710 sucks. I've seen it with different colors, but supposedly you can't change the background. Plus I heard the external pic id is really bad. I think I'm leaning toward the 710, but the camera quality and external screen are making me think twice. I don't necessarily need bluetooth, but I really like the look of the 710.
