Motorola V710
x-mas just came early!
Just now while working at a mall kiosk near Atlanta, I just had a V710 box of goodies delivered (a launch kit)! 😲 It even included a dummy phone. Wow what an unexpected surprise. As an exclusive agent for verizon we get the new phones the same time they do, but never dummy phones. we have real ones in the display case. The kit included pocket guides, spec sheets, and training guides.
The phone looks nice but does not blow you away. It is roughly the same size as the 7000, slightly wider and slighly thiner. Main screen size is slightly larger. I think the 7000 has more style, but you moto heads should love it.

Mr. Captain Verizon, it was stated that the phone can record up to 3 min of video/clip based on how memory is left. Does it state can you send that 3 min clip via pix message or is it limited to 15 sec like the lg 7000. Since you have the specs, anyway you could post the specs that make the phone special. I know it was posted a while back but some people just joined the forum. Thanx

Does it say if you can sync the phone with Outlook ? (via bluetooth?) What about voice notes? Does it come with a memory card? How many entries allowed in contact/address book?

I will just try to mention some "special features" that you guys may not be aware of yet or haven't been clear on based on the limited technical data supplied in the kit.
1. 10MB of built in memory. Needs the transflash memory card 64MB for the 3 min. vids. Info is vague, but seems video messaging will be max 15 secs even with memory card. Maybe a limit VZW has set?
2. speech recognition works in the speaker phone mode.
You guys already know the rest or can easily find the info.

I just spoke to Motorola to ask them this question about the memory. The rep stated with the built in memory(10mb) you can store a max of 3 min for video. So you could have 3 1 min videos, 1 3 min video. According to them with the expandable memory, it would give you more room to store more videos/pix. Also they told me the phone has various colors you can choose for the ext call id, to seperate whether its going to be work # calling, family or friend calling..similar to distinctive ringing.

with all that love for the new dummy phone, how are you gonna feel when you have to display it and the first of the customers start to violate it, and then more customers get their dirty hands on it. Violating it over, and over, and over again, until it is old and ugly.

According to Motorola, if you have a computer that bluetooth cap. then you could connect to the internet via the National Access network.

In all that I've read about the V710 there is one thing that I have not found. What is the V170 going to $cost$.

I checked at VerizonWireless.com and they have the LG-VX7000 priced at $249.99 reg. price, then they take off $70.00 to bring the new price to $179.99.
So my questions to Captain Verizon(or any one who can answer) are: what is the reg. price going to be? And is there going to be some sort of discount that Verizon will be offering? 😁

The price has been posted before, but it will be $319.99 - $70 rebate = $249.99 with 2 year contract. Guess that makes it $70 more than the 7000. Sorry. Don't know retail cost yet. We sell the 7000 for $400 retail so add $70 to that should be close.

you say youre not blown away by it, and the 7000 has more style...yet you seem to be obsessed about it. Im not knocking you for being obsessed with it, since I am...but for someone that isnt blown away, you seem quite in love with it ;)

It just looks plain but classy, more geared toward professionals who can afford it. The 7000 has a more contemporary and flashy look geared toward younger buyers who love it but can't afford it. It has not been a big seller so far because of the price. The v710 will be $50 more even, but people will buy it just for bluetooth.
