V710 Tri-mode question

phonezzzz

I have a question. Still difficult to answer because phone is not out yet but will ask anyway. Is there a setting in the phone where you can force analog or how exactly does it work? One of the main reasons I want this phone other than bluetooth is the fact that it is tri-mode.

I've used it before. I was in a digital area, but I had mostly one or zero bars. The reception was really crappy and nothing really worked. I forced analog and got 5 bars of signal, and could hear my calls twice as clearly. The only thing was, I couldn't use digital services like Mobile Web (But I couldn't in the first place because the signal was too weak).

Remember... when you are in analog mode, you use your battery up faster as analog stays at a constant .3 wattage output. When in digital mode phones (any phone) varies the wattage output depending on signal conditions, distance from tower, etc.
