Motorola V710
No USB?
Word is that synching phone no.s, calendar will work w/Mobile Phone tool2...but no
transfering of mp3s or photos.
This doesnt make sense since other phones will transfer photos...
So the rumors are either: they want you to
use get it now
or they will come out w/a new release of
Mobile Phone tools at some point.
As much as I don't trust these co.s I don't believe they would promote MP3 player as a
feature and not give you the means to load your own files
I have the cable from my Timeport 270c..as far as I understand, power sources, cables etc are same as from older timeport and v series

You are forgetting that there is also a TransFlash slot on this phone. They expect you to load and store your MP3s on this removable card which (using a SD adapter) you can easily put into your computer to transfer MP3s on to and then insert into the phone.
I don't think this function has been confirmed yet ☹️

How can you download MP3s if there us no USB? D.J.
If I am not mistaken the USB Data cable can be used to download MP3s to the phone or TF card for use in the phone's MP3 player, not for use as ringtones.
"New for V300, V400 and V600 users only - enjoy multimedia with your new mobile phone! Transfer images and audio files between PC and phone, create ring tones and edit images. Also compose and send Multimedia Message Service (MMS) messages from your PC over the wireless network"
Now, I can't believe they won't add this functionality to the V710.

And this information is based on... fact? Lucky guess? Wishful thinking? Who's got the real answers?

It is based on the preponderance of evidence that I have read on the Mot site and elsewhere on the net. Notice that I did qualify my statement.
One could get a USB adapter for SD cards, and copy the MP3s onto the memory card as needed.
