I've read that downloading MP3's are only avbailable through Get It Now by purchasing them. The USB on you PC would connect via a cable to the phone. I also read that there maybe a way to change the format of the mp3 to load on the tflash card. I am not an expert but just sharing info that may or may not be valid.

there is USB port.

Word is that synching phone no.s, calendar will work w/Mobile Phone tool2...but no
transfering of mp3s or photos.

This doesnt make sense since other phones will transfer photos...

So the rumors are either: they want you to
use get it now
or they will come out w/a new release of
Mobile Phone tools at some point.

As much as I don't trust these co.s I don't believe they would promote MP3 player as a
feature and not give you the means to load your own files

I just talked to Motorola rep and they said you can buy a USB cable and connect it to the phone and use the software to download MP3's. I wish I could clear this issue up. The rep also said check their website everyday or register as it will be available to purchase from them any day.

You are forgetting that there is also a TransFlash slot on this phone. They expect you to load and store your MP3s on this removable card which (using a SD adapter) you can easily put into your computer to transfer MP3s on to and then insert into the phone.

If I am not mistaken the USB Data cable can be used to download MP3s to the phone or TF card for use in the phone's MP3 player, not for use as ringtones.

this is from the moto page for MPT. You get it when you click accessories on the V710 page

"New for V300, V400 and V600 users only - enjoy multimedia with your new mobile phone! Transfer images and audio files between PC and phone, create ring tones and edit images. Also compose and send Multimedia Message Service (MMS) messages from your PC over the wireless network"

Now, I can't believe they won't add this functionality to the V710.

And this information is based on... fact? Lucky guess? Wishful thinking? Who's got the real answers?

It is based on the preponderance of evidence that I have read on the Mot site and elsewhere on the net. Notice that I did qualify my statement.

http://tinyurl.com/4lrdf » says a SD card adapter comes with the available memory cards.

One could get a USB adapter for SD cards, and copy the MP3s onto the memory card as needed.

http://shop.store.yahoo.com/insidecomputer/usbsedimu ... » (USB 1.1) is cheap enough right now if a SD adapter is needed...
