I will be ordering mine from here tonight at 5PM:

Radio Shack
Collegeville-Shop Ctr
(610) 489-8285
222 E Main St
Collegeville, PA 19426

If you want to know the salesman's name, let me know. He was helpful and knew about the phone.

bitslap, did he tell you when they would be available? I talked to a RS rep this morning and he said on Thursday. I thought that was a HUGE assumption. I said how do you know? He said that normally the shipments come in and that is when the ad starts.

He said it is able to be ordered now. So depending upon the shipping method i use, I should have it in my hands by Wednesday if I overnight it. Ground/standard should be around Friday. It depends on the relationship between the warehouse address and my shipping address.

I'm sure any Radio Shack could order it if they want to. I doubt few would turn down the chance at $500 commission. I ordered it from one in Buffalo NY no problem. Fortunately, I had a "geek" manager who knew all about the v710. He had been a a Motorola demo of the phone back in May. He said Motorola is really excited about the v710 and thinks they have a phone that can know Nokia off the top perch.

In any case, he said it would ship immediately (I picked the outrageously overpriced overnight shipping) and he said I should have it Tuesday-Wednesday.

By the way, that is knock Nokia off it's top perch, not "know" 😁

the sku is in our system, we're told we'll have it in stock by the time the store flyers hit customers homes which is Aug 3-5 but I am not guaranteeing anything. I'm as anxious as everybody else to get this phone but I'm not starting any release date rumors...

P.S. its kinda weird since we haven't even got the LG VX7000 yet

That's correct. I am ordering it to be shipped directly to me. It is in stock to be ordered, not in stock at the store.

Mine's ordered too. Wednesday delivery. I guess those first 710 are going to be registered before Verizon even starts selling them.

dunno yet... i just assumed since it is a race to buy and register the first 710, you could register as soon as you buy it with a valid ESN.

Here's what it says from the Moto site:

"Be one of the first 710 people to purchase a Motorola v710 handset and register your purchase online at http://www.motorola.com/shop/v710registration , after receiving official notification from Motorola that registration has begun ..."

When you go to that link -- I don't see a registration page yet.

Yep. And remember -- there's no guarantee that Moto will open up the registration before VZW starts selling the phones. They might -- but they might not.
