"Or until supplies last" implies they are covered if they were to distribute 710 free accessories before the end of the promotion; the 711th person is out of luck even if it's July 30. My guess is that they just haven't bothered to change the promotion date yet - assume it'll be August 30 or something like that. Despite possible availability through Radio Shack as early as this week, Motorola still hasn't even set up the product registration page (helomoto.com/producer) yet.

Who knows at this point. What I find to be absoluetly incredible is that RS is going to sell this thing before the corporate stores. Just seems odd. Why would VZW miss out on that much possible income. I mean people want this phone, that is a given. I mean, just the fact that those who don't need the contract are buying them is evidence of that.
Something is up, and I have a feeling it will be RS taking it in the chin somehow. If not VZW will, and I don't know why they would do that at this point. It is failing all my logic checks. o.0

this radioshack thing is baffling me...I just cant understand how verizon doesnt really even know about this product yet (considering it may be the biggest item verizon is yet to offer) and places like RS is already selling it!! let alone RS having information on it 😛
wake up verizon, besides providing the best service (coverage wise) these guys are idiots 😛 (no offense VZW employees)

You can't blame them really. The chance that a supervisor, etc... is listening in on the line would make me cautious of what a say as well.
I mean, if I was VZW recieving calls about this phone hourly, and now knew that RS was going to start selling them... I would be putting some serious heat on the people who get phones to stores and on the stores to get them ready to sell by like tomorrow. A four day advantage for something like this is huge. I mean, if this and other forums are any evidence, the sales people wouldn't have to do anything but get the phone because people want it that much.
Reguardless... this is will be interesting to watch unfold. If the RS reps are right and you can get them from the store as early as this week...

VZW could drop the phone Thu - Sat and Motorola could still have the promo end midnight 1 Aug. In that short time, 710 people could register and get the free BT item. Remember, over 40K signed up to be notified (and Mot still has not put out the email about the V710... yet)!

My faith in VZW for surprises wears on my nerves a bit. Why "suprise" a base of customers? That just seems wrong on some level. You know Motorola controls the contest, if this what is holding them back (and I really hope it isn't) that is just silly. Release the phone and then before the date that it expires, and the rest in on Moto.
Eh, this is getting out of hand. I have done my best to be civil and not get the bug, but my VX6000 is broken and I don't trust the "worry free" nonsense enough to go and get something new. I mean how many people have been screwed by that idea of hope already.
On a side note, where did all the VZW people who used to post here go? They were like sucked into the ether or something. o.0
