So I woke up early today and made sure I was outside the door of Radio Shack when it opened so I could order this phone immediately. And woo hoo I got it. I signed a new 2 year contract earlier this summer so I was in no way eligible for any special promo or anything so it wasn't worth waiting for VZW to get this phone. (When I stopped into the VZW on Rockville Pike, even the manager was clueless about this phone) But the guys at RS were great. If anyone in the area wants to order it from RS, I definitely recommend going to this one:

If you are eligable for an upgrade can you sign up for a 2yr with the discount from RS?

I'm not sure, but you can call them and ask. I think the NE2 is only available through VZW though, from what others on here have said.

I just called the Rockville RS. They said that since they have to order the phone you have to pay full price ($519) and the phone gets shipped to your home address (she said in about a week??). Once you receive the phone bring it into the RS and they will activate the phone and process the $200 new-contract discount. I also asked about the $70 rebate and she didn't know anything about it. Since we're so close I think I'm gonna wait to deal with the Verizon strore, especially since the RS girl said it would take about a week for it to be mail to my address anyway.

Yeah, ground shipping takes a week, but I couldn't wait that long. I figure if I'm already shelling out $519.99 for a phone, another $80.00 for shipping isn't gonna kill me. And I just called the number to check on the status of my order and the lady said I should have it tomorrow! Yay for RS and UPS!
