Qualcomm?

Does anyone know if the Motorola V710 is based on the Qualcomm chip?

If it is, it might work with BitPim to browse the file system which includes and overwrite feature. This is how I was transferring ring tones and picture to and from the phone when I had the LG VX7000...

If there were qualcomm like in the vx7000. That would most likely be just the radio circuit and not the chipset and or processor. If it were the chipset, then it would be called a kyocera. Plus the firmware and processor is what really counts.

Yes, Motorola has been using Qualcomm chipsets for several years now. Motorola used to make their own chipsets, but that ended with the advent of 1xRTT.

Naturally there are other chips in there, but the MSM - the main processor and heart of most CDMA phones - is all Qualcomm.

Nokia makes their own chips, and they have partnered with TI and STMicro to try and take on Qualcomm, but so far only Nokia uses those chips.

Samsung also makes CDMA chipsets, but so far they have only tried them in a few of their own models - low-end ones. Samsung still uses Qualcomm chips in the vast majority of its phones.

If it's not a Nokia or Samsung phone, it's Qualcomm chips inside. Why else do think their stock is doing so well? 😉
