Motorola & Apple iTunes (v710)?

SAN FRANCISCO, July 26 - Starting next year, users of Apple Computer's iTunes music service will be able to play songs on some Motorola cellphones, the companies said late Monday.
The agreement is the first for the cellular phone industry, which is eager to add functions to phones to bring in additional revenue.
For Apple, the deal could help it keep the lead in the online music market, which promises to get even more competitive later this year with the arrival of Microsoft.
Customers of iTunes will be able to transfer possibly a dozen to a few dozen songs from their PC or Mac to their phone over a cable or wireless connection, said Steven P. Jobs, Apple's chief executive.

this sounds really cool but I thought that this was possible with the v710 anyways. cant you put mp3s on your v710 and have playback capabilities?? how are we supposed to get mp3s to our v710s??

I imagine this would also allow you to put Apples protected ACC (legal dowload) format on the phone. And also provide software to organize it... Playlist etc.

No, that would be weak sause. I can't put my legal MP3s on MY phone? That's great? I think not. Why should I have to pay for MP3s I already have all over again? Thank you DRM, another blow to fair use. 🙄

AAC format in addition to MP3... Apples iTunes store only sells AAC format.... Right now they can oly be played on computers and iPods....
Its a big step.
