Many of those who have send early reports on the v710 functionality are finding it impossible to get mp3 files transferred between phone and PC. Same for videos, pix.

While we won't know true functionality till we see the phone demo'd, read the final manuals etc, I'm getting a feeling that Moto/Verizon
may be "false advertising"... hey you got a phone that handles music, videos, etc but you have to buy stuff from Apple, subscribe to "get it now, etc, in order to actually use these features....

Questions to ask when you go to your dealer -
how do I get my tunes onto the phone?Cable, bluetooth, Trasflash card, none of above?
How to I get those great hi res shots/videos to be seen? Can I xfer them to my PC or do I have to subscribe to ...

Where did you see anything about VZW & Apple? Boy... are you smoking your socks again? I think that you are confusing the Motorola & Apple deal to include iTunes mobile on FUTURE versions of Motorola phones.

I believe that several forum posts (here and elsewhere) have cleared up much of what you are asking.

The Transflash card is key to tranferring music, videos, and photos to your phone. You can "bring them to your phone" by loading them onto a card (via your computer) and inserting the card into your phone.

As the Transflash is hard to get so far, people are having problems with file transfer.

It seems (but I there had been no final word on this) that you will be unable to transfer any of the music files into the phone's internal memory to be used to ring tones. I have seen nothing about importing photos or videos into the phone's internal memory.

With only 10Mb or so of internal memory, it would seem that using it for a few song...

There seems to be a mixed hat about what you can and can't do with Transflash. Some of the people say that you are unable to read the Transflash once it has teh Moto files system, and thus cannot use it for MP3s. Now, you can save video and pictures to it, but when you want to get it off the computer seems to be unable... or so I heard.

That's my concern and the deciding factor on whether I'm going to keep this phone when I buy it, or return to the LG VX7000. It's bad enough that they've restricted the bluetooth capabilities, and now possibly the transflash functions?! I want an ideal and free way to upload and download file to and from the phone. I had that with my LG VX7000,...

Disabling bluetooth? I never said anything about disabling it.

I said that Verizon has restricted it's capabilities so the bluetooth only function with wireless headset and for use with your computer as a modem, but they've blocked the file transfer feature, on of the best functions of bluetooth, in my opinion.

Anyway, I guess I can deal with that as long as they haven't restricted being able to transfer file to and from the phone through the T-Flash card 🙄

No one to date has been able to use bluetooth to upload and download files to and from the phone. This includes, testers and individuals who have been able to get the phone early and with the latest firmware.

These individuals have stated that they have only been able to use the bluetooth to connect to headsets and to connect to laptops to use as a modem. That's about it.

I got the BT USB adapter to route calls through the comp. I donno if the comp can answer or have any CID display. But it has been tested to use the microphone and speakers on your comp. I don't know anything about the initiation.

Has anyone checked these out again?!
We cannot transfer pictures, and music from the TransFlash OR Bluetooth?! They are FORCING US TO GET A STUPID MULTIMEDIA PACKAGE!!! WTH

Is there any new information?!

ALSO, do NOT get the stupid family share plan. It prevents BOTH lines from the NE2 $100 rebate!!!!!!! AND they charge for stupid thing like Caller ID, and Voice Mail on the second plan!! If you take off Caller ID, they charge for minutes coming in or going out.. i forgot but looks like they are screwing people over in every which way possible..

The ONLY advantage besides saving a mere maybe 3$ a month, is to share the minutes. What a RIP OFF!!!

And if you break the phones into separate plan, then you have to begin a new contrac...

they don't charge for voicemail and caller id on the second line. plus, most people i sell to don't pay the extra for in-network on the second line, because it is not a big deal to most people.

Maybe you should double check that because they DO charge for both voice mail AND caller ID for a second line in their Family Share plans, and 10$ for unlimited In-Network calling.. I have the bill to prove it..

The bluetooth being restricted is not too bad, and I am pretty sure the Transfer and Sync capabilites of the Bluetooth are more of a Phone Tools limitation. Who really knows though? I remember reading that this phone would also be released with Phone Tools 3.0, but those conversations were lost the noise in this forum and others.

To me esablishing a who new form of communication with a device to work with your software is better done with a new version as opposed to trying to duct tape a new arm onto it. With that in mins I would not be surprised if PT3.0 does allow for the use of BT for more than it currectly does.

As far as the Transflash is concerned, well... no one has the phone and can be sure. The only person who has said any...

For all those who are ranting/complaining about the addition of Apple's iTunes software on the v710. If you would just read the press release, you would realize this feature will NOT be available for the upcoming v710. iTunes won't be available on Motorola's phones until the first half of next year. (Knowing Motorola, most likely 2nd half.)

Excerpt from the press release: "Apple will create a new iTunes mobile music player, which Motorola will make the standard music application on all their mass-market music phones, expected to be available in the first half of next year."

This was to announce what Motorola and Apple are planning to do. Also, according to the announcement, Apple does not even have the mobile version of it's iTunes s...
