what i have heard is that "out of the box" the phone can take 15 second videos and as part of their marketing, you can purchase the transflash card to have the ability to take up to 3 minute videos.

Does anybody know how much transflash is "enough"? I know "The bigger the better" is the most likely answer - and I'm assuming that if you have enough room - you can take unlimited pics. But - for instance - does anybody know how much memory 1 pic takes, or how much 3 minutes of video would occupy?

Amazon seems to only sell a 64Mb and a 128Mb. Is this as big as they come?

128MB is as big as they get right now. Larger capacities (up to 1 GB) are planned, but no one is sure if they'll work with the phone. You can get a 128MB card right now for about $40; that should be "enough".

Figure that for a 1.2 megapixel camera, pics will be about 300kb max. I'm not sure how large video will be, but not too large.

Question is, do you intend to use the phone as for mp3 as well... 🙄

Thanks for the info dragonmaster.
I just realized 128 is as big as they come by hitting the Sandisk website - so I guess that's the one I'm getting. There seems to only be a $7.00 difference between 64Mb and 128Mb - so it's a no brainer.
I guess I'll get the Motorola reader as well.

I definitely don't plan on using this for MP3 because I have an iRiver (btw - for all of your MP3 lovers - check out the iRiver instead of the iPod - it's SOOOO much better: virtually the same size as iPOD but has: FM Tuner, double the batter life, ability to RECORD via internal mic, external mic (included) PLUS optical and analog line in/line out for recording from just about any source you want (ie: you can record a live show if you bring a good mic), co...
