V710 Issues

phonezzzz

Jul 27, 2004, 8:30 PM
I am eagerly awaiting the V710 just like you all. So I am going to get it most likely the day it is available or soon there after. But my gut instinct is to wait...but I can't.
So to my question, what kind of recourse is there if there is problems with the phone, software, firmware, blue tooth connectivity. That is the reason I think I should wait and see what the general concensus is. But again I want it bad.

Thanks

I feel the same way. Many people were burned when they were the first to get the t720. However, you do have the 15 day policy and Verizon will let you reflash the firmware at any store if a new version comes out.

I was one of the first to get the T720 which I will be laying to rest on the day that I can finally get my hands on a V710.

The T720 was having some initial problems which you may recall, and when I took mine in, my phone was swapped for a new one, no questions asked. There apparently was a recall for the older phones. I had to take my phone in a few other times, and in most cases they just upgraded the firmware or in another case, I was given a new phone.

I didn't get any special insurance or extended warranty. So for the first year all is fine when serviced by VZW. My current phone is currently out of warranty and I had an issue with the screen going black and the phone completely shutting off, I took the phone to VZW and they up...

YEAH RIGHT!!! They are SO good about replacing phones, that I ended up going through 6 T720/T730's. Boy is that service!!!

With service like that, its a good thing they don't do plumbing or cable service, or run hospitals.

I do think they learned their lesson with the T720...and this phone is been tested a lot more...evident by the many delays...

But with 6 replacements somethings still keeps you coming back to Verizon... 😁

I bought a T720 back at the beginning of March last year. I was so excited to replace my old StarTac (which was an awesome phone) for a new Moto with a color screen. I liked the look of the phone, and still think it's a nice looking phone. However, I too became victim of the horrendous performance of the T720. About a month or so after I bought it, I called customer service and detailed all of the problems that I was having. They actually agreed to send me a brand new Samsung a530. I sent them back my T720, even swap. I understand that this is probably a very rare solution, but it completely solidified my faith in VZW. That trade earned them a customer for as long as they are around.

Sad thing is that I never liked any phone as much as my Motos. I am most excited about the V710 because it is a Moto. Yes, I fell victim to the T720, but I had such a great track record with them in the past. No phone I've had since has had the same great call quality as my past Moto phones. I'm really looking forward to having one again.

I still have a motorola timeport (color led display) the phone is awesome still works for almost 5 years now. Hopefully this v710 will be as solid as the timeport was.
