Can i sync the v710 up with outlook to get my calender on the phone? Also, I was in the verizon store in nanuet, ny and the manager said the phone should be there by monday, and it will start selling as soon as they get it. I dont know if thats true because verizon workers seem to know little about the company and/or the phones. Does anyone know about syncing the outlook calender though?

I talked to a very reliable source, and they told me that the phone is fully syncable with outlook. The bluetooth and/or usb cables can transfer information through a free downloadable program from the motorola website. They also said that you can transfer pictures and video as well

Was this an 11th hour addition? From what all the current v710 users have reported, none of this was possible.

Yes you can use Mobile PhoneTool 2.0 to sync with Outlook via a USB cable only (not through Bluetooth since the V710 doesn't support the necessary profiles). Here are a couple of posts that I made on this topic. One has a link (hopefully it still works) to a Motorola MobileTools 2.0 flyer showing which phones can connect to it via Bluetooth and the V710 is not listed .

Interesting, I just downloaded PT 2.1.2 from Moto's site and have a BT connection on my PC. The software set-up saw the phone (it was listed in the drop down list for initial set-up) and bonded to it no problem. However, when I open the application, it shows the phone and states "Intializing..." on the screen and that's it. The phone beeps and shows a B icon (for Bluetooth) and that's it.

So it does appear that BT won't work period for this. What a bummer. Now I have to buy the lame USB cable. I hope I'm wrong and Moto Support will have an answer for me Monday.
