Motorola V710
USB data cable vs. Bluetooth?
I've been reading a lot about the restrictions with Bluetooth.
"Verizon has restricted it's capabilities so the bluetooth only function with wireless headset and for use with your computer as a modem"
With the stated quote mentioned above, would you be able to transfer MP3s and photos via the USB data cable and Mobile Phone Tools 2.0? Can you also use the address book feature in Mobile Phone Tools to store your phone numbers and calendar of events from your phone? I know with Palm devices, you can import your address and calendar into the Palm Desktop Software's integrated program.
Maybe it's not a restriction that Verizon has placed on the phone, but perhaps the incompatibility with Mobile Phone Tools 2.0 and the v710 bei...

of this board are non existant
But, to summarize..it's clear that phonebook and calendar will synch thru the USB cable.
No one in my research has successfully managed to xfer mp3 or photos by cable or by flashcard.
If you read all the advertising, this functionality should be present, so we will all have to cool our jets and wait till we
see the phones in action.

Just wondering; what's the reason you'd want to transfer those files TO the internal memory, given the memory there is so small? Wouldn't it make more sense to simply leave it on the T-Flash and access it from there?
I have phone tools 2.20. I also have a 128mb transflash and I used the adapter to copy mp3's to it,
everytime i switch to the card the phone locks up. I have to reboot, I am not sure whats going on, but I don't think Verzion is to blame,
I think motorola is limiting the bluetooth stack so we will have to use the phonetools software's functionality
I think that sucks and that they should have obex enabled.
samkatz-
I think you're right...we just all need to be patient and wait n' see what this puppy can do.

what exactly is that T-flash adapter do? Does the adapter connect via USB and plugs into your computer? If that was the case, can't you take pictures on your phone, then remove the T-flash card, hook it up to the adapter and port the photos into your computer...or am I missing the whole concept? They really need to release this Mobile Phone Tools 3.0...if in fact that even corrects the problems.
If you purchase Mobile Phone Tools 2.0 now, can you upgrade later for free?
Thanks again guys!

The T-flash adaptor is shaped exactly like an SD memory card. It has a slot where you can insert a T-Flash. This essentially "turns the T-Flash into an SD Card" which allows you to insert the who assembly into a standard USB card reader (there are zillions available on the marke...
