Usually my post are my own opinions, however this time I am quoting a friend who works for RS.

According to him, the Direct2U orders were cancelled due to info found on PhoneScoop concerning a "Buy/Return/Buy Again" scam in order to get the phone earlier as outline in a post by a RS employee a couple of days ago. Remember, both VZW and RS (probably MOTO as well) monitor these forums. VZW has refered its customers to PS for info in the past, so this is not out of the question.

Also, according to him, RS purchase their phones fom MOTO not VWZ. He reminded me that the communications industry is full of legal complexities, VZW/RS sales agreement being one of those complexities. He assured me that RS would not advertise a product that...

If that's true aboput the cancelling of the orders, that pisses me off because I had no intention of doing any scam. What some people will do to save a few bucks.

That sucks...especially for those of that are in contracts and are in no position to get new-customer or upgrade pricing (like myself). 😢 It isn't all that surprising, though.

(Personally, if I were eligible for upgrade pricing I'd just wait around until it showed up on the phone-upgrade page on VZW My Account and order it direct.)

Really? Perhaps they know that I have been faithfully watching this forum for over five months, now.

...Supporting them and defending them whenever I could.

Maybe I can get some recognition in the way of one of the 710 free speakers or handsets they're giving away 😉

(I already have the HS820, so I'll be needing one of them speakers... 🙂 )

Hey Flyinace2000,
I have actually been a bit concerned about your employment status since you broke the news on the whole return thing. But in retrospect, besides the fact that I don't think they can legally do anything to you or your employment - it would probably be a good step up out of RS. Your info and resourcefulness here have proven that you are beyond RS standards for helping customers. If I were management at RS I would probably give you a call personally A) to let you know that you created a massive headache for quite a few people and how to go about it better next time; and B) to congratulate you for attempting to bring numerous new and would be very loyal customers to RS all over the country - maybe even give a bonus or somethin...
