Picked mine up at RS in NYC works great!!

I picked my phone up from radio shack today down by Union Square in NYC. They only had two. I got one. I'm playing with it right now and it is a fantastic phone.

I was up for new every two and got the phone for $349.99 with a one year contract. It was $319.99 with a two year but I didn't want to commit to a phone for that long. They offer the $70 rebate which brings mine to $279.99. With a two year contract that would be $249.99. As far as I can tell that is the same as what Verizon is going to offer.

So far everything works great on it. Calls placed/received, pictures, everything.

Get it at the Shack if you can.

So - you paid $100 more than you had to because you gave up your $100 NE2 credit - right?

No. As stated elsewhere the phone retails without a contract for somewhere in the $517 range. Because I was renewing my contract I was able to get it for $349.99 with a one year contract. Two years was $319.99 which would make the phone $249.99 with the rebate.

As far as I can tell this is the lowest price that you are going to get from verizon with the NE2 credit and the $70 rebate.

NE2 is basically the same as signing a new contract. When you first sign up for service you get a $50 rebate on a phone for one year and a $100 rebate for two. Same thing with NE2.

This is the same deal that I got from RS. Even if it is slightly cheaper at Verizon I have 30 days to take it back to RS if I don't like it for whatever reason and then I c...

I am 99% sure you are incorrect, and have paid $100 too much for the phone.

I spoke to a Verizon rep this morning, and she confirmed what I already thought to be the case.

The phone retails for above $500
If you sign a new 2-year contract - it comes down to about $319, and then there is a $70 rebate which brings it to $349. This price is for ANYBODY who signs a 2-year contract - even a new customer.

If you are a NE2 customer - and have had your current phone for 22 months - you are entitled to a $100 credit toward the purchase of a new phone. Meaning - you could pay $249 - $100 = $149.

The rep confirmed this for me... and this is why I'm waiting until the 11th. I have one waiting for me on hold at a Radio Shack right now - bu...

1 correction to my post....

I accidentally typed:

"there is a $70 rebate which brings it to $349"

I meant to type "$249"

I contacted my local VZW rep, and was told the opposite - the NE2 promotion does not overlap the discount multiyear agreement price on a phone. I asked him point-blank:

"Does the NE2 promotion active against the 2-year plan price?" No was the answer.

"The NE2 promotion is only a discount after the full retail price?" Yes was the answer.

I wonder which will take hold!

yeah- but 10% of $249 is $24.90

If this guy would have gottent it from Verizon with his NE2- he would have saved $100!

It's a no brainer - unless you really want it 13 days early - and are willing to pay $100 more for it (or of course if you don't have NE2 - then getting it from RS is fine)

Talk to me in 13 days kgray. We will see then who got the phone earlier, and at the same price as VZW.

I had to pay full retail so I got the rebate + the 10% off - so the price was better than any EBay price I have seen.

You forget that verizons retail is only 419.99 and RS is 519.99. If you are buying the phone at retail you bette rwait. I guess you could buy it at RS then return it when the VZ phones come out and get your $100 back..

I just called Verizon to RECONFIRM- you guys are 100% wrong on this.

The phone retails for $5xx
If you get a 2-year contract - it brings it down to $319
With the $70 rebate (which is through Motorola) - it is $249 (you have to pay the $319 - you get the $70 in 6-8 weeks)

NOW - if you qualify for NE2 - you get $100 towards this purchase - meaning that Verizon will charge you $219 instead of $319 BEFORE the rebate - so when you get your $70 back - you've only paid $149.

This is only valid for qualified NE2 people who get a $100 credit.

If you aren't due for New Every Two - then go for it - get it at Radio Shack -it's the same price as VZW.
BUT - if you do qualify for NE2, and you get it through Radio Shack - you will wind up p...

Yeah orion007 - $419 / $519 - I'm not debating the the full retail price. You may be right about that - but I'm not paying full retail - so i don't care about that.

The point I was trying to make was that the guy who was entitled to the "New Every Two" $100 credit paid $100 too much (whatever the price) by going through Radio Shack. Whatever deal he got with them - he could have gotten the same deal through VZW (if not BETTER) - but would also have gotten $100 off that lowest price (whatever it would have been for him, based on wheth...

NE2 is avail to cust who have been on a 34.99 or higher plan for 22mos or more. You can upgrade to 2yr promo price with up to an addl $100 off the 2yr promo price. It can also be combined with rebates.

We will see who is right on this. (I have a feeling it's me but I have been wrong before - once) All indications on this site and elsewhere point to the lowest price being $249.99 with a two year contract and the rebate. I haven't seen anyone stating that the price with be $149.99 in any case.

It just seems like strange logic to me that they give new customers less of a discount than current custmers.

Also I spoke with a rep on the phone today who told me that my phone would not work if I purchased it at a RS since it should not be released today. She also told me that I would have to pay full retail price for the phone if I did purchase it. She was wrong on both counts. I'm not saying that they don't know what they are talking about,...

Sorry gotv710 but I also believe kgray is correct. The phone is $319 with 2 year contract then it becomes $249 after rebate. NE2 (only if u qualify) at a VZW store wull give u an addl $100 off making net price $149.

We'll know for show when we buy of course but I'd be surprised if this is not the case. Also is everyone sure on this 8/11 date... I have a feeling 8/3.
