Camera Quality
Can anyone who has the phone give any feedback on the picture quality of the phone. I picked up the phone but it seems to me that the picture quality is horrible. If anyone can confirm that, please let us know. Thank you.

I have been playing with the camera for a while today, although i have taken some decent pictures i dont think it is up to par. I was expecting the pictures to turn out a little bit better

its true the quality sucks, i compared the pictures that i took with my v710 and my girlfriends v600 and her pictures looked better. the color was a lot better, i took pics with both phones and the 600 has better color quality and pics while my v710 had horrible color photos. Its hard for me to even tell that they are color. Is anyone elses like this?

Did you take the picture in bright lighting? That is the most important factory for taking pictures especially using low quality camera phones. Maybe she took hers in bright light, and u took yours indoors.

I took the v600 and had the v710 side by side and i took the same exact picture and the color was waaaaayy better in the v600, even while looking through the screen to see what i was going to take a picture of, you can see the difference in color, like i said, its hard to even tell u are taking color pics.....i dont know what to do. I know its not the screen because while looking at the main screen like backgrounds, the v710 has a better screen. for some reason i honestly think that radioshack got the phones that verizon didnt get around to fixing, i bet when the phones are released on Aug 11 they will be hella better, or at least thats what im hoping for.

Did you check the camera settings? You can adjust the quality (resolution) settings!

Shouldnt the flash take care of low light situations(Ex:Restaurant setting)

despite being 1MP the v710 does not have a CCD (charged coupled device) which is essential for getting decent pictures...the vx8000 does have a CDD so exspect it's pics to turn out considerably better. but you know...vx8000 doesn't have bluetooth or transflash etc, and who knows when it will be out...

So I suppose since CCDs are the only way to take a good picture, then that is why those high end digital SLR camera's by canon use a cmos sensor? Get your facts straight there is absolutely nothing wrong with a cmos sensor in relation to a CCD camera.
