Hello guys:
For those who work at Radio Shack, what is the official return policy for both exchanges and a full refund? I remember one of my friends tried to buy a v60i(c) from RS and they told him that there is only a exchange policy but not a refund policy. Thanks.

What exactly does the Radio Shack $50 warranty cover that the Verizon insurance does not? If I got the RS warranty, do I still need the VZW monthly insurance?
...
the 2 yr 49.99 warrenty from RS covers the phone the same way the manufact warrenty covers it. it pretty much extends it for a year. It also covers the battery. You are entitled to a new phone battery every 6 months for 2 years. It does not cover loss, theft, or water/ corrision etc...

but also they would have to take it back if something went wrong with it wouldnt they, and replace it???
...
within 30 days we will replace it. After 30 we send it out to repair unless it is in great condition and the manager allows it.
...
I'm not interested in the replacing but is there a policy for money back at all so if I don't like the phone for whatever reason, I can return it for 100% of the money without a restocking fee?
...
Within 30 days you can get a full refund as long as it's in new and resellable condition (ie. no scratches, marks, cracks, etc). Although, you only have 15 days to cancel your service with Verizon. So on the 16th day you can get a full refund on the phone, but VZW may slap the 175 early termination fee on you. However, and don't quote me on this, there have been some instances that VZW has waived the early termination fee within 30 days due to RS having that return policy. Just make it within 15 to be safe

It seems all the San Francisco Radio Shack stores I called said it's 30 days exchange but 14 days to return for a refund even though VZW's Worry Free is 15 days. However, in San Francisco, the only store which has the V710 and 4 of them as they took 2 from some other store is selling all phones with a 90 days exchange/No returns policy because what they do is after you paid, they will write on the receipt right on the left side of where the Subtotal and Tax is "No Returns, 90 day warranty". I was playing with the V710 yesterday at that store and I didn't buy it because others got the No Return thing on any phone they bought regardless if it was the discounted price or the full retail price.

Can you return the phone back to any RS or the one you purchased it at?
...
Also, is there a timelimit on the amount of minutes one can use before they won't take the phone back??

In other words the RS warranty is a true "extended" manufacturers warranty. It's about as useless as a circuit city warranty.
The RS next door to my store sends all their wireless phones out. Takes about 15 days, possibly more and there is no guarantee it will be fixed.
You would be better off paying the $4 a month to VZW to use asurion. At least through asurion you WILL get a new phone and they cover physical damage, liquid damage, lost and stolen.
...
I mean if you wanted Extended Warranty, it's $1 extra a month for the Total Equipment Coverage which includes the Insurance already from Asurion/Lockline. Ofcourse if you're buying the phone with atleast a Gold Level Credit Card, you get warrantied for atleast one year in addition to the manufacturers warranty anyways so there isn't a point in buying the ESP.
...
That's not entirely true. Our (RS) service plan does cover many things that would not be covered under a manufacturers warranty. I have sent a few phones out with a cracked LCD under the RSSP that were fixed for the customer. Also, in order for it to be considered water damage the phone must be inspected by more than one person, the main tech and a supervisor, that way you don't just get someone that doesn't want to give an effort. The best way to make the Service Plan work for you is by wording it right on the repair tag (ie. never say the phone got wet). the RSSP does NOT cover physical damage, water damage, loss or theft...for those I recommend getting the VZW insurance. On my v710 I got both the RSSP and insurance just due to the c...

Thanks Will! Is the 30 days a full refund or just exchange because it seems like the Radio Shack in Downtown San Francisco told my friend that it's exchange only?
...
as far as I know, that is for exchange only..... I just picked up 2 710s at radioshack last night, and I was told that I had 14 days to return them to get my money back if I wanted. After that, I could only exchange.
...
So under the RS return policy, I could buy the phone at RS today, return it on 8/11 for a full refund and then buy one at Verizon using my NE2?
...
Technically, but I do think it's ethically wrong...and if you did that to me I wouldn't really appreciate it as we have to work with you and spend the time. If you just return the phone than it's like we did our jobs for nothing, I don't know of many people that are willing to work for free. Work with you RS associate and see if there's any way they could call VZ and see if they could put the 100 credit on your account in leu of the phone purchase, I've been able to do that a couple of times.

Interesting... I thought there wasn't any way to get the money back since it seems like what they told my friend was exchanges only.

I called the various Radio Shacks in San Francisco and they said 30 days exchange, 14 days full refund. However, my friend went to the only Radio Shack store in SF that had the V710 today as they took 2 from the other store that had it. It seems that while he and I was there, we observed all 2 of the 4 phones being sold. 1 was an upgrade and the other was non-activated. What's weird is the manager at this store keeps reminding the employees to write in red ink "No Refund - 90 day Warranty" on the receipt. This seems kind of shady since it seems like they don't allow any returns at all but if the phone breaks, they'll fix it within 90 days. This sure seems different than the official Radio Shack Return Policy of 30 days on any item on t...

I specificaly asked about the return policy as I spent alot of $$$ on this thing today. The manager of the local RS said 30 days even if I turned the phone on and used it. I may take it back as it was pretty expensive. 519.99 + 79.99 for the headset and tax..$693...wowzers
...
The thing is that this particular store seems to tell people after they paid and the manager reminds the sales guy to write down the "No Returns - 90 day warranty" line on the receipt. Maybe that's what they are the only downtown San Francisco store who has the phones because if people can't return the phone, it will be all sales and no returns.
...
It may be that particular store location only since that was the reason I asked about the Radio Shack return policy question.
