Why August 11th when RS advertising all over available now??

OK.. Here is the question... Why would Verizon have an August 11th release date when Radio Shack is now advertising (aggressively advertising) the phone as available now for $249.99.... It is in their flyer... On the Radio Shack Home Page, and as we have seen here... Selling like hotcakes...
Is there some defect that is in the phone that needs to still be resolved???
Is it all about the numbers???
It it the fact that the phone might work, and, as we know, Verizon doesn't like phones like that???
Any opinions from this opinionated crowd???

I posted something about that about 3days ago TITLE was ITS ON THE WAY...i said we drop the ball in letting Radio Shack sell theres first not sure who allowed that but it was a big mistake..I think we just let radio shack go first not sure why but..it was stupid on our behalf we defiantly drop the ball in doing that, but dont be mad its here now so go get in a week or so.

im assuming u work for verizon.... there were rumors b4 about a aug 7th or 8th release, is this true in any case???? or is it national launching on the 10th/11th??

I believe VZW let Radio Shack have it first as a thank you because RS Sells a few milion VZW phones a year. As a RS employee we never get phones when they launch. We always get the phones about 2 weeks to a month after. We still dont have the LG 7000.

Just because Radio Shack advertises something doesn't mean they have it in stock.
Also remember that the phone is not exclusive to
Verizon. Motorola can sell there phones to anyone they want. Verizon may be an exclusive carrier but not reseller.

There will be a soft wear upgrade next week and a firm wear update sometime in the next month or two. You won't see many of those problems here because A.) The phones are new and the operators/owners haven't come across the problems. B) The phones are a new toy and the owners are willing to overlook the problems out of ecitement of having there new toy.
