The NE2 is continual use of the same phone for 22 months. So, even if you have been a customer for 2 years, you have only had your current phone for 8 months. That is how they count it.

If you have had your PHONE for 2 years or more u can get the 100.oo NEW EVERY 2 credit. Radio shack sometimes does not honor the 100.00 credit thats for VZW customer who come get phones from us. Like i said they are a reseller. They buy there on equipment. But if you have had your phone for at lease 10 months they should let you upgrade. if your at 7-9 mths its a judgment call and i would do it but some people dont. VZW is not selling the phone yet only Radio Shack is. And our stores will not sell you it a month early either unless Customer Service remarks your account to do so.

yea thats what the other guy was sayin...if i had my phone for 2 years or more i can get this 100 dollar credit, but since my family share person wanted to just go for 1 year and then decide again to go for 1 year i was screwed if i can get a NICE enough cust rep to hook me up with the promotional price at least I WILL EXTEND MY CONTRACT RIGHT THERE AND RIGHT THEN.. imean its def GOOD business for verizon to lock in a customer for another 2 years or at least 1 right?...i know their are rules but hopefully they can bend them cuz i am willing to stay and want this phone O so Bad. haha IF there are ANY CUST SERV REPS READING THIS Plleeease reply

I have just gotten through dealing with the exact same issue. I am 17 months into a 2 year contract and want to upgrade. I am willing to sign a new 2 year contract and I even wish to upgrade my service plan from a $35 a month plan, to a 59.99 plan. My current contract will not end until Feb 05, but I will be eligible for an upgrade with the NE2 discount in Dec 04.
Now, Verizon has told me that my only option to get the phone sooner is if I sign a new 2 year contract and upgrade my service to a plan between 39.99 - 74.99, I would be eligible for an upgrade in Oct 04. Keep in mind that I would not be able to use my NE2 discount if I go this route.

YEa i totally agree, so what are you plannin on doing dishing out the 419 for retail and just getting 70 back... i mean still 349 i guess the issue is is it worth to wait or to get now....

Yes, I will be buying it for retail, unless all of these lab rats start reporting that this phone is crap. So far it all sound like good news.
I don't know about your receipt idea. I have gotten the impression that Verizon is not interested about what you've done in the past. They just want to make the most money from you that they possibly can NOW and in the future. If you buy the phone from Verizon, the purchase should stay on the data base. Talk to a customer service rep and see if your idea is valid or not.

This idea probably will not work, unless you are not going to use the phone. As I understand NE2, it is continuous use of the same phone for the 22 month period. If you switch phones, you start a new cycle, and would not be able to use NE2 until 22 months from the activation of the new phone.

Okay I had a 12 month plan that ended in December. I don't buy the insurance. Took it in for service and my phone had obvious water damage. Service guy said you need to buy a new phone. My wife washed my T720 with the dishes in the sink 2 months back. I was very polite with verizon customer service saying what do I now wait until December to get another phone. They flagged my account so I could "re-up" a contract early. Sure I gave up the $100 in December, but I can't go that long without a phone. Verizon expected me to sign another 2 year contract. I called to confirm before heading out the door. When I went to radioshack it went through at the promotional price. I paid the $319 and got the $70 rebate. $249 with 2 year contract. Don't wait ...

if u had ur current phone for 10 months even if u changed the contract if its on a 1 yr. plan u should be able to get the upgrade promotion price, it has to do with the phone ull just have to renew ur contract.
