New V710 and MPT problem

I just got my V710 at RS. It is very cool but I go to hook it up to Motorola Phone tools 2.0 with USB cable and it won't initialize.
Do I need an update to MPT?
Anyone else have the same problem?
Help?

Oh, by the way, thanks Verizon for being money whores and purposely removing bluetooth file and contact syncing. I wasn't planning on using that dumb GIN service before. I'm especially not using it now.
