Ive read that the phonetools software doesn't work with OSX. Ive also read that you cant sync the phone with an OSX Mac at all. If bluetooth is an open standard shouldn't this work? or is verizon and Motorola becoming like sony and making you buy extra proprietary software and hardware?

Bluetooth will connect the Mac to the Phone, and that is all that bluetooth will do.

In order for the phone to talk to the comuter it needs a driver, just like your printer needs a driver to talk to the computer.

You want to be able to sync your address book, calendar and to do list. Apple keeps updating iSync to be able to talk to more bluetooth phones.

I don't know what phonetools is but expect Apple to continue writing drivers for more bluetooth phones. Eventually the v710 will be included and will not require phonetools, probably the next upgrade.

If you buy this phone today it will not sync via isync but someday in the near future I would expect that it will. Just keep a look out.

Can you tell me how I can find out when drivers will be available for the v710 so my blue tooth & isync will work? Just watch the Apple website? Any ideas?
