OpenWave is the name of the internet browser. Depending on the version of OpenWave, it may or may not support Mobile Web 2.0. Mobile Web 2.0 is another name for WAP 2.0. If the browser can display graphics or pictures and not text only, then it's 2.0.

What you have is just plain Mobile Web using the Openwave browser. Don't switch to Mobile Web 2.0. I did that and regret it because I can't even find movie time listings on the new Mobile Web 2.0. Plus it appears to be a bit slower than the standard Mobile Web. Keep what you have...trust me...I wish I did. Through trial and error...you learn.

Hope that helps

do you have a choice which mobile web you get w/the new v710 phone?

I'm all setup on my timeport w/myvzw by msn and get yahoo mail, epsn scores, stockbrokers etc....Will I lose that if I get the fancy looking, graphically oriented mobile web 2.0?

can you switch back and forth?

Sam-

When I first got my LG VX6000, it had the just the standard Mobile Web...and at the time it seemed simple. So, then I upgraded to the LG VX7000 and thought I would give the Mobile Web 2.0 a try. I didn't like it because it took too long to find certain info like the weather, and its nearly impossible to try and find movie times.

Unfortunately, once you provision yourself over to the Mobile ...

Verizon can provision for either Web service, you need to let them know which one you want. Currently Verizon is working on the 2.0, there have been some issues with it. But overall you cant beet the better graphics on it than the old one.

Got a question, on the V710 if you have the old one, will you still see graphics on Mobile Web 1.0?

No. Mobile Web 1 is mostly just text with a few icons here and there. It is not graphical like Mobile Web 2.0. If you read my previous post, I wouldn't switch to Mobile Web 2.0...bad experience.

Thanks, I have Mobile Web 1.0 already but on a Motorola v60c so it's a text only phone. I just wondered what 1.0 looks like on a graphical phone. As long as Mobile Web 2.0 has the stock quotes then I'm fine with it.
