Anyone switch to v710 from a Samsung a530? I'm concerned about size. Thoughts on size?? I saw the phone in the store and it feels a bit big for me, but i'm very used to using the small Samsung a530. Anyone here coming from a small phone who has thoughts after using the v710 for a day or so? Is the adjusting difficult?

I had the 530. Loved that phone. but the addition of speaker phone and camera..... Makes it worth it. But by far the biggreest thing that stands out is the screen. It so nice to have all that screen space. I think the 710 is more pocketable. I had the extened battery on the 530 and it made it a bit thick. The 710 is actually thinner. Now i just have to figure out how to hack GIN programs to work with this phone. Memory card is also a must for this phone.

Overall the size of this phone is a benifit not a hinderance. It actually feels like a phone you can hold not not drop.

i switched fomr my a530 to the v710 and believe me the v710 is not that big. the screen is at least 2 times bigger then the a530 screen and the features the v710 has is uncomparable to a530 considering the amount of features the v710 has its size is perfect. Also the outside lcd is at least 2 times bigger. You shouldn't have any problems switchin to the v710 from the a530 unless you have extremely small hands. 🙂

Thanks. I don't have small hands, but do like small phones. And I think they have a bigger 'cool' factor... easy to carry, easy to wear... easy to put in pocket. I'm just concerned this phone might feel to big, especially after coming from an a530. Of course, i love the features and want that... but the size is my biggest issue. Anyone else who has similar concerns/experiences, please share your thoughts, thanks.

Summary.... The V710 is a large phone... But because of the style, the weight (it weighs nothing) and feel... It seems smaller than it really is... Its 50% more than my audiovox 8900... But you don't realize that... Oh, yea... The camera sucks... Big time... My audiovox 8900 is like an 8 mega pixel camera when you compair the pictures to the V710...

So do you think i'd be happier with the Samsung a670? It has a camera... but originally did not do video transfer.... only capture. Not sure if that's changed. I really want the 710... just concerned about what i'm reading here and also the size!!

No video transfer to A670 tried it a couple of hours ago. And didn't work. and my friend just confirmed from the A670 side no option to video messaging.

I really like small phones... small buttons don't bother me, even a small screen is not that big a deal for me. But the features of the 710 seem great... just the phone is SOOOO much bigger than what i'm used to. I guess i'll have to try it for a few days and see if I can get used to it. But the smaller the phone, the easier it is to carry, put in your pocket, hold next to my ear (i think so), and has much more COOL factor.

I just wonder if anyone is coming from a small phone and having any issues getting used to it. Too bad the belt clip doesn't swivel... it's much more comfortable horizontally.

I actually like the bigger size of the v710 because I can use both hands to text faster. The a530 is so darn small, I have trouble using 2 thumbs to text with because there is nothing to hold on to. I like small phones too, and the a530 was great when I got it last summer, but the v710 is just an overall more useful device because it is less hassle to text with, bigger screen, BT wireless headset, and speakerphone.

The a530 was the first phone I used a beltclip with, and thus got scraped and beat up quickly (I usually take good care of my toys too!) Though I can't specifically fault its small size for the number of times I dropped it, I did drop it more than any other phone combined, so I guess it had something to do with it.
