Another Stupid Verizon Decision!!!

They let motorola release the v710 and almost all the bluetooth features are turned off except for the ones that let you buy BT accessories.

why wouldn't there be the ability to sync contacts and calendars with a Mac/PC?
They tested this phone for months and they didn't think this was a feature that we would want at launch? every other BT phone adhears to the BT OPEN STANDARD. as a manufactuer or phone company you have to make a conscious decision to turn this standard OFF.

buying a bluetooth enabled device should get you all the features that the conglomerate of companies have agreed upon are put in the standard. you'd be pissed if your DVD player didn't allow you to play alternate audio tracks or your compact flash card only ...

On the other side of the coin, when compared to ATT Wireless and the v600 that I had for one month, I am quite HAPPY with what Verizon Wireless allows that ATT did not, that being dial-up-networking.

To me, this is first and foremost a telephone. All of the other features many complain about here (calender, camera etc) are available on OTHER devices. (i.e not a real telephone feature)

To me, the most valuable bluetooth feature of any cellphone would be to use it as a cell-modem to pair up with a PDA or laptop and to be able to access the internet and only having the minutes of your plan charged. Verizon Wireless offers that and ATT W did not.
