Per MOTO FAQ: MPT uses modem comm to sync - (Perhaps bluetooth has a chance)

I've been able to get MPT to get pass the initialization with Bluetooth by manually pairing as a modem and telling MPT to use serial. Be advised it takes a while and I still can't sync but it seems closer

How long was a while for you, mine has been initializing for over 30 min....

The serial wizard took about 10-15 minutes.
The phone kept doing the bluetooth connect/disconnect beeps toward the end (about 5 times)
The second time I started MPT, it got stuck at intializing again. This time I clicked on the menu button and manually selected bluetooth modem but manual configuration and choose v710. This got through the initializing screen but it still won't read / write info to the phone. I'm tring to find a usb cable locally that will at least let me get my phone book in.
