I will copy below the info I got off of moto tech's web site, I haven't sucessfully transferred any data, but I do feel I am making progress, MPT now has a V710 shell on my computer. I am using MPT 2.21e if that helps anyone.

This info is from moto for the V600, but seems to work for the V710, let me know if you have any success

Start by detecting the device through the BlueTooth neighborhood or 'My Bluetooth Places'.

You need to make your phone discoverable by going through the phones menu, then selecting Settings,Connection, Bluetooth Link, Setup, you will then see Find Me highlighted on the menu. Leave this here.
Go to My Bluetooth Places, click Select on the phone to make it discoverable for 60 seconds. Click View Devices in R...

If you get this to xfer data,w/blue tooth, post it on Howardforums.com and apply for a
Nobel Prize.

It's been pretty much established that it can't be done!

The phone and MPT did communicate, the modem commands appeared to be successful, but nothing beyond that at present.

Pairing the computer and the phone is not a problem. It is trying to do anything after the pairing. The bluetooth technology works, but the firmware on the phone that allows the 2 to communicate with MPT does not work. I don't think there is any answer, but motorola either needs to update the MPT or the frmware. I am thinking it is a firmware problem.

When you do Device Detection via the Change Modem option, it fails on the third test:

AT+CGMI

Test one (ATZ) and AT+MODE=2 give OK responses. I believe the first is the setup and the second one is the handshake and the third one is the file exchange, which fails. Of course, that's the most important one. 🙂

I don't remember my modem commands to well (been awhile), so I'm guessing at these strings and what they mean.

I think AT + CGMI is a command to run a script for the connection (Common Gateway Mobile Interface). Maybe to send the Handshake data to the phone / computer?

Maybe it's an initilization script?

When I installed, I ended up with Two Bluetooth icons in the system tray. One says it's not present and the other one would find it. The one that seems to find it is the Bluetooth emulator from Microsoft. The one MPT installs does not find it. I have tried disabling the Microsoft stuff etc. I can't seem to get the MPT one to find it. Very frustrating. I tried taking the selection to use a Blutooth connection already installed on the computer and it would find the phone, MPT seemed to talk to the Phone. Modem commands seem to work but fails on the handshake. At that point, it all over and nothing happens.

Thanks for the information. There was a live update that I downloaded after messing around with the software for a while. Actually, what came on the disk seemed to do some more than the update. However, neither work.
