Motorola V710
MPT with Bluetooth (semi definitive answer :))
However the support person acknowledged that it is possible that the reason for the VZW delay is that they are going to include OBEX in their release of the phone. If that is the case all we need to do is bring our phones into a VZW store and get it flashed with the latest ROM.
If this is something that is not corrected I will admit that I will be the first one to call in customer support to complain about the implementation of BT in our 710's.
OBEX was specified by the IrDATM (Infrared Data Association), and although the protocol is very good for Infrared connections, it is not limited to it. In fact OBEX does not specify the top or bottom API making it very flexible and can run over most transports like TCP/IP and Bluetooth. Therefore OBEX is also called IrOBEX when used over the Infrared medium.
Today, OBEX is builtin in devices like PDA's like the Palm Pilot, and mobile phones like the Ericsson R320, Siemens S25, Nokia NM207 and Nokia 9110 Communicator. The HP CapShare 920 can also talk OBEX in addition to JetSend. Microsoft Windows2000 has also builtin OBEX support.
