pix messages can be sent to any other vzw phone...videos im sure can be sent to emails or other phones that can receive videos, but the network only supports 15 sec videos for bandwidth purpose...

Your partly wrong. The picture messages do not work with every one. Only people with the more advanced phones like the samsung A670(pics only no vid), other v710s, and probably the VX7000. off verizon network the only phone that I can think of is the V600, but I don't know about too many phones. all other phones get a text message saying go to VZWPIX.com to view the image. not pictures to all phones, but anyone can go to vzwpix.com and pick up pictures you have sent similar to e-mail.

well im in tech support and i worked for about a yr supporting pix messages. If you have a camera phone you can receive pix message from another VZW camera phone and email period. If you can not then there are some setting on the network that need to be corrected for your number. The sending of videos im not sure about cause they just came out with that and im not actually supporting video messages. You are correct that if you have a non-camera phone then you will get a txt message.

SHould i even bother getting the phone- then spending ? much more on a memory card and use it as my player.. or should i get a Non- mp3 phone and spend the money on like a ipod?.... just looking for some suggestion, thanks

Depends what price you qualify for. If you are getting it at full retail just for the MP3 player Don't bother. You will probably get more features, better sound quality and ease of use out of an independent. If your getting it for $150 with NE2 Go for it.

If you are looking for the phone to serve as your mp3 player of choice, I would reconsider. There is so much more that you can do with an iPod that they are not even in the same league. If you really want an mp3 player, save your money on the phone and get the iPod. I don't have an iPod but if you go to Circuit City (they've had one on display by me), and you play around with one, I think you'll agree. Of course, getting into more money, the iPod can be fully acc...
