I can confirm. I was just on the phone with VZW about my screwed up bill (figures)...and I asked about new plans and the new v710.

The guy I was talking to first screwed up and told me that the phone was already out, but then corrected himself that it would be out on August 11th.

Prices are $419 alone
$369 with a 1yr
$319 with a 2yr

Not sure about any other rebates/offers, but he did say that usually they'll bundle a mobile or other accessory package upon purchase.

Do you have to also pay a service fee for activation if you buy the phone alone?

First of all the cost of the phone at radio shack is the same price as it would be at verizon (519) less the two year sign of rebate of 200. On top of that, they offer the same $70 rebate, so it comes to 249. When I got my phone, I called verizon and asked there policy about the every 2 year $100 credit, they said as long as I can show a receipt they will credit my account for 100 max. So I got my phone net for 149. Actually less considering the fact that when you open a radio shack account, you get 10 % off. This way is definitely cheaper than buying from Verizon, (you lose the 10% discount with RS)

That is incorrect sir. The starting price, full retail, is $100 less at Verizon ($419@VZW vs $5...
