OK...there's just way too many pages on this forum to search for what I'm looking for. If I may be a little lazy and ask a couple questions.

1. It's been determined that you CAN'T sync the phonebook, calendar and transfer files via Bluetooth..right? If that is the case, can you do those items mentioned via the USB cable?

2. I'm looking to purhcase a USB data cable for Motorola at RadioShack, but the one that they sell requires "FutureDial" software. Is this the same cable requirement needed for Mobile Phone Tools 2.0? If not, where can I purchased the correct cable needed?

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

No syncing with bluetooth, rumors say it might happen in the future with firmware update. You can to them with the USB cable. Radio shack sells a serial to USB cable(this is the one with a black box in the middle of the cable) I don't know if they sell a straight USB. they should both work, but I recommend straight USB. You do not need future dial if you have other phone software like MPT2.0. The V710 requires MPT2.0 to be updated as many times as possible. First from the upgrade web site then twice with live update. Good luck

That's good to know elec_engineer!

Until they get the bluetooth situation rectified, the USB cable will suffice the purpose. Have you tried it with the USB cable to sync and transfer file?

the only thing that might work for that are the hacking programs GAGIN and bitpim and others. I am really a novice when it comes to them and know that you can really destroy the phone with them if you don't know what you are doing. I have only used GAGIN with my T720 it work well working within the limits of the hacks. For all I know I am very out dated and there may be other programs out there. For now I will wait for the experienced hackers to fool around and figure out what can and can not be done. good luck
