Verizon and V710

phonezzzz

I have the following question. I have been looking to change to Verizon for about 3 months now. Been putting up with Nextel service for too long. And now waiting for the 710 for obvious reasons. My question to you all in this forum is Verizon's service all that it is cracked up to? I have done research and people seem to love it. So now I want to hear it from you all. I know there is a forum for verizon service, but I want to hear it from my 710 peeps.

Thanks

Well, the service itself (reception) is very good. My dad used to have a Nextel and it sucked @ss. Verizon is much better than Nextel.

Reception is the best in my area and if you travel much, you are more likely to have decent reception without roaming (if you get National Plan).

They are NOT the cheapest by any means. Do NOT subscribe for less minutes than what you expect to use. You can change your plan at any time, but check to see if you are taking a promotional offer. If you do, you have just extended your contract. No rollover minutes, Nights starts at 9PM and no flexible plan like Sprint. They are the best and expect you to pay for the privilege of using their network.

Most customer service reps and tech personnel are cooperative, most off the time. They will do their best to make you happy - that is their job.. This as opposed to store sales reps, their job i...

i would agree, that Verizon is not the "cheapest" in terms of price, but definite the best in terms of getting the most for what you pay for. definitely a high quality network. i travel often and have never been in a "roaming zone" or had a bad singla. i have the america's choice plan and it is excellent. a lot of my friends have verizon so the mobile to mobile minutes come in handy. I also have friends on T-Mobile and Cingular and they are always complaining about dropped calls, no service or reception. I often call them and I can't get a hold of them on the first try.

I switched to Verizon back in 2000 after being for AT&T -- their service and reception sucked! I am now going on my 3 phone with VZW and renewing my contract for another 2...

The only thing that you could possibly have problem with is that verizon has 3 networks, sometimes the phones can be a little indecisive and could be annoying, but with another service you probably just would be getting nothing. So yes verizon is the best and all the other little providers that use their towers.

I have personally switched at least 10 people over to Verizon... All complained about either CS, reception, or coverage. I report that all but one are still with Verizon. The one switched to Cingular to save $$$ -- And even HE ad...

Despite frequent dropped calls at home with my Samsung SCH-A310, I'm willing to stick with Verizon because the V710 sounds like a phone I'd like.

I *am* hoping that when I'm driving around and my Prius should be letting me know a call is coming in, I don't see the 'missed call' message later that I see a lot of now...

One of the things you need to understand about Verizon is that it plows its money into the network, rather than phones. If you look at the coverage maps, most have a lot of area that there is little/no reception, while Verizon's is pretty solid from coast to coast. I've used it in many parts of the country, and have had a good to great signal, very few dropouts. In fact, they just filled a hole on a my daily commute, I now never have a No Signal message.

The company I work for picked Sprint, and I have a terrible time with them, even in the middle of a high density city. I would not pick another carrier, and there is very little they could offer to make me switch.

I was a long time AT&T Wireless customer. I made the mistake of migrating to GSM last year. Hence, as soon as my contract ended, I ported over to Verizon. I live in NJ and work/play in NYC and the outer boroughs and Verizon has been 100% on point for me! 🙂 I have absolutely no regrets about leaving AT&T whose GSM service was not that great in NYC.

I had AT&T and I hated it... they would always screw up my bill and I ended up w/like 200 free minitues for the rest of my AT&T life, but then when I wanted to switch to there "better" service because all those phones (at the time) where the better color phones and I wanted the T720 and I couldn't get it w/my "old" at&t service they wouldn't honor the free 200 minitues for my at&t life !!! I was so mad I was a customer w/them for so long and I was so mad I was like see ya, and I was haveing so much trouble w/my phone that I went down to the lowest plan I could have (think it was like $20) so I didn't get a huge penitly for leaving early and went to verizon.. so I had to phones but once I went to verizon I was never happier....
