VocaLabs SectorPulse Report Shows Newcomer T-Mobile Pulling Ahead of Verizon in Customer Service
08:01 a.m. 08/03/2004

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn., Aug 3, 2004 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Newcomer T-Mobile bested two-time winner Verizon (VZ) in Vocal Laboratories' most recent quarterly SectorPulse report for mobile phone carriers measuring the quality of customer care. T-Mobile achieved an "A" ranking in Caller Satisfaction, and a "B" in Call Completion; while Verizon slipped to a "B" in both Caller Satisfaction and Call Completion.

Other mobile phone carriers included in this study were: -- Cingular, which received a "C" in Caller Satisfaction and a "B" in Call Completion -- AT&T Wireless (AWE), which received a "D" in Ca...

Read the entire article. It does cover call completion. If your CS is bad then coverage don't mean diddly squat! If you are getting arrogant (WE HAVE THE BEST COVERAGE AND SO WE CAN CHARGE MORE) then you will begin to loose customers (ask AT&T Wireless and AT&T). I have pushed VZW the past few years as being better and they were. However, you cannot sit on your laurels forever. When you get to be #1 you have to work harder to stay there as everyone and I mean everyone is going to come after you hammer and tong! Lately I have seen VZW slipping in critical areas and if this trend continues, then they WILL loose the #1 spot and not be able to regain it.

Where I live NYC/NJ area T-Mobile is a freaking joke. Major metro area with spotty, ****ty coverage. LMAO!

Verizon is the King of Beasts around here by a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG shot.

I see cracks starting to form at VZW. Limiting phone functionality, coverage issues beginning to show up, rude CS people. You can't live on past accomplishments forever. If you are #1, the other guys are going to be gunning for you 24/7. True VZW may be #1 now... and now is the operative word here. Nothing lasts forever. You have to look at the big picture and past your loyalty to VZW and be objective. They lost JD Powers and now this research supports JD Powers... doesn't that make you stop and ask "Is there something going on here that is not right? Has VZW grown arrogant and thinks that they can dictate what the customer wants instead of vice-versa?" You really need to research this. Just look at the postings across the boards. I have see...

I have been nothing but 100% satisfied by all of the CS reps, the coverage is awesome, and their service has been great for me for the past 4 years.

The only problem I have is with the salesman who don't know **** about their own phones.

Trust me if there was a better service available in my area I'd be all over it. I have no loyalty but to myself. What's best for me is what I follow. If verizon tanks and Tmobile surpases them in coverage and reliability Ill be a customer. Until then Verizon gets my checks every month.

All I know is that EVERY time I make or recieve a call with VZW .. it works in the NY/NJ area. I've had the rest ... and that was never the case with the others.

My bills are never screwed up either ... so I'm happy.

Those crack as you call them have always been there. And yet people are still signing up. P the trans flash is healing the cracks for me. With transflash I can put ringtones, pictures and movies on and off with no problem. Only thing left is games, but I don't play that much so oh well.

I am not sure what you are refering to, Jdpowers has Verizon as #1 for Customer Satisfaction. Also Consumer Reports has Verizon ranked up there too. I know Verizon has very very high standards for providing Quality. In fact the care reps at the call centers are monitored daily for their quality. Unfortunetly you are going to have some bad apples of the whole bunch. Here a direct link to JD poewers site showing one of regions(West) for example giving Verizon the Award!!

T-mobile may have good customer service but their coverage area is horrible and they drop calls more than any other provider. They are the worst company in the DC metropolitan area.
