You DO know that these are TESTER phones right?

broncosrh

The phone being released by Verizon Wireless on 8/11 is not the tester that Radio shack is selling now. I just wanted to make everyone aware that there are fixes being made to the phones and software/what not that OUR release will have included. Any bugs now could be the result of the fact that these are not going to be the final version released (radio shack)

give me a break dude...all the phones are the same - period - your precious little verizon phones will have the same plastic parts and guts as the RS phones....still won't matter - I am returning mine since it is not meeting the hype -- its a moto and a disappointment like the t720 before it....

Um.. no. it's REALLY not the same phone. You can buy a beamer with a volkwagen engine, it aint gonna run like the SAME beamer with the RIGHT engine.
When it comes out on the 11th... which is WHY we haven't released it YET, you'll see why. My message here is don't base what you're experiencing with an almost-finished-but-not-quite model as to what the experience would be with the real final product.

Moto - for the sake of their name - would not let a "vw" engine in their bmw.

They don't give a flying fart about you or your comission at vzw - radioshack found a way to sell the phone early - period. Moto licensed them too.

Dumb comparison by the way. It will be the same phone, buggy and all. I haven't even gotten any of the bugs on this board, but my 2 gripes are build quality (cheesy cheap plastic - will vzw fix this???) and no blue tooth (which is a moto problem).

I'm in sales too dude...good luck trying to get folks to buy from you.....

Actually, broncosrh is right. The RS versions are not final. The final release of the v710 was pushed back till august because they had to do a last minute S/W upgrade. (And i've read from this board there will be S/W to update the bluetooth problem also.) Try reading back a couple pages and you should find all this information. 😁

To upgrade the S/W, the phone will have be be "flashed", which will wipe out everything that was put into the phone by the consumer. ☚ī¸ Best to wait.

Not if you have MPT and back everything up prior to your flash.

If more people just backed up, life would be much easeir. 🙂

so, has it been determined that the new S/W version will be available for sure on the new release made by Verizon on Aug 11th, or will it take about 60 days? it seems highly unlikeable that a new "flash" has been issued since 07/29 of RadioShack's pre-release of the phone.

Whoever gets the new phone from version, can you please post your latest S/W version?

Thanks in advance.

I've read quite a bit on this board, and believe about 5% of it. From everything that has been said, it is still the same phone no matter what....nothing will fix the cheesy plastic or the medicore phone (and i wasn't expecting to publish with it or anything).

I'm taking mine back. If in a few months, all is forgiven and the phone's second production run is better, I will upgrade...until then back to my samsung - solidly built for a PHONE first and the rest second.

😁 Thanks for confirming my previous email. I don't know why so many people seem to be so eager to debate facts from within our organization.

Gee nice of RS folks to tell ya that before you buy a $300 phone.

What ever the story is, I got burnt buying a Moto phone with verizon service.

unless there is a patch out in the next 5-10 days, I am dumping the phone and the service, and it will be a long time till ether company gets my $ again.

I took mine back. Phone is cheaply built, poor volume and picture quality. I'll wait for their next blue tooth phone; the lg7000 which I got last month blows the 710 away

Were you looking to buy a cell phone or a camera? I purchased the phone to be used as a phone, I use my Canon digital camera to take pictures.

To me, that is like saying I should take my camera back because the cell reception on it sucks.

I don't have any problems with the volume... BUT I will admit that the belt clip holster is a cheap POS just waiting to break and send my cool expensive new phone skidding along the pavement. Now that would suck

This is by far the best VZW phone I have owned.. With the exception of the PC Sync via bluetooth...

Awsome picture quaility.. I printed some 5 x 7's and they rival my original 1 megapixel camera...

Sound quality is great... Just like all Motorola Phones, it just has a sweet spot...

The large color screen is the best... Although the outer screen needs some work..

My Parrot car bluetooth connection is great... The fact that you just sit down in the car and turn the ignition... My wife doesn't have to take the phone out of her purse... I don't have to unclip it from my belt...

Great quality... Solid.... Light... Although the color of the phone shows off any dirt...

I am keeping mine...

OK Mr Dissapointment.... What is the ...

I give him lots of credit for creativity. But the Russian judge deducts for credibility, the French judge deducts for legitimacy, and the Polish judge deducts for stupidity.

Better go back down to the basement and try again 😎
