yeah and I tried to register 30 minutes before it ended, got a server error, called tech support, and they told me to try in an hour.
This phone all in all has been the worst tech buy I have made. They cant even get the website to work.

"Got your "Here comes the Motorola V710!" email. Tried the link to Verizon site to purchase phone. Surprise! I Can't! Since I am already a Verizon customer and site won't do upgrades! Regular site doesn't list it yet. AND I HAVE BEEN TRYING FOR A WEEK TO GET IT FROM RADIO SHACK!
Now, on top of the fact that others are getting the phone before I can (been waiting for months), you open up registration for free accessory before I can get it. I know I may not have been lucky enough to make the first 710 registered, but I believe I deserved a chance!"

No one said that those of us who want the phone as a VZW upgrade would be given special treatment. This is a Motorola promotion to start with and 710 out of the thousands who have purchased or want to is such a small population that this is all ridiculous.

I don't care that I didn't get in. I do care that I did not get a chance. They made a mistake that could cost them customers. Not me. I will still get it when I can. I think it was a simple error on Moto's part - they probably thought the VSZ site would handle upgrades (or simply didn't consider the possibilities).
Just got auto-response to my email. Since this is my first time emailing them I don't know if this is standard but... they gave me a code for 10% off on line purchases. The squeaky wheel...

I would agree that the registration process was unfairly executed but do realize:
Those who purchased the phone from Radio Shack paid $100 more for the phone as it will be sold from Verizon, so they actually paid for their free "gift" (and paid about 30 bucks or so more since the same items can be ebay'd for $60.
