Well I just picked up my v710 at Radio Shack today. I actually stopped at the Verizon Store just to check and see if they had them in yet. They didn't but that's ok because I had already called Radio Shack and reserved a phone there to pickup after work.

The good news is that the Verizon store actually knew what phone I was talking about for once (no dumb blank stares). I just can't believe that Radio Shack would have them first.

Regardless I have a ton of contacts in Outlook, but I don't really want ALL of them in my phone so I was going back and forth about buying PhoneTools or not. I also had read posts about people saying they were having problems with it.

I have MPT installed with my v710 and it syncs my calendar and contacts just fine.

The BT sync is an issue that I brought up to Moto's Software support yesterday by phone, they claim a software patch for the phone will be available by month's end to correct that.

There is really no reason at all to buy MPT. About a year ago I found it online for free at some dutch cell phone forum (and it was the multi-lingual version, so you could choose english.) Then a few weeks ago, I decided to download the MPT 1.23 to 2.16 version update off of Kazaa (which gives me MPT 2.0 ) and then I used the "update" feature on the help menu and updated it to 1.21b 🙂 So, keep the $30 and find it online.

How 'bout paying for something instead of stealing it? MOTO and the authoring company spent resources creating this software, and expect to earn money offering it for sale.

I think moto rips people off with cell phone prices anyway. If you do your research, they hire cheap workers for under minimum wage to make the PARTS for their phones. So they can still glaunt about being "assembled in the USA". But the assembly is all done by machines.
