Consolation for the VZW soon to be phone purchasers...

Those that purchased the phone from Radio Shack paid $100 more for the phone than will those of use that will get it from Verizon. Those people all seem to have gotten free BT accessories. So in reality, they paid for the items, and paid too much. They are not worth $120, they are worth $40-60 on ebay, so VZW purchasers will actually pay less overall for a BT accessory and the phone than RS purchasers.

Was this perhaps Moto's plan from the start...this way nothing is really given away for "free".

I don't know where you got that from. We got screwed period. The RS guys paid 319.99 with a 2 year contract and then the get the $70 rebate. If you check the Verizon website:

http://www.vzwshop.com/motorola »

You'll see that the V710 is $249.99 with a $70 instant rebate instead of the mail in rebate. So their deal is every bit as good as verizon except you can't get NE2. Which that doesn't matter as far as I am concerned.

Motorola is going to get an ear full from me first thing in the morning, assuming everyone else doesn't already have the line tied up. Which I certainly hope they do. You guys listening?

That's for people who paid full price. People who are going to get the phone with a 2 year contract will pay the same price at Verizon $249. I'm trying to confirm this but people who get the...

I purchased mine at RS for 319.99 w/ a 2yr contract. I was not eligible for NE2 on my account so with the $70 mail in rebate, and a good possibility of a free accessory, I paid no more then anyone else. If i did win the accessory I will give it to my wife who will be upgrading her phone on the 11th when it arrives in stores, she will be using her NE2. I already have a Jabra Freespeak and have no problems keeping that one.

I knew at the outset how much I was paying and gladly paid what I did at RS in order to have this phone in my hands almost 2 full weeks before most. I really needed to get rid of my POS t720 (which I sold for 110.00) So the way I look at it I did not get ripped off, there is nothing for anyone to get upset over. It may ...

I got my phone at RS on Saturday and ultimately will end up paying less than I would at a VZW store. I was eligible for NE2 and the RS manager hooked me up. He got me a $100 credit on my VZW account, which was totally awesome. He also helped me open a RS account which took another 10% off the $319.99. The price came down to $287. If you subtract the $70 rebate it brings it down to $217. Thats pretty good savings I'd say. Ultimately with the 10% discount, $100 credit and $70 rebate, I'm only paying $117 for the phone!!!!! How awesome is that!?!?! Now I have some extra $$ to go buy the bluetooth accessories. 😁 😉
