What is up with the GetItNow?
Why is there such limited things to download;
for example only xringer and modtones for ringtones, and VERY limited games to choose from

I called Verizon about this, and the guy told me that the V710 won't have many options until it is released through the Verizon stores. However, today they added a couple more features.

So now where are the apps? No messaging service (AIM, Yahoo IM, etc.) is currently available under "Get Messaging". Do we think this is just typical lag time, and we'll see them in coming weeks, months?

The issue with GIN apps is reconfiguring them to work with the layout and colors of the screen. I have changed the 710's platform id to the old 720 setting and got pages of GIN apps, installed them, and most will crash the phone because of the different video and processor...
However, a few, like tip calculator, do work.
Changing the platform is not something one can just do, you need to have the shop equiptment to do so. If you find a shop close by willing to bend the rules and try it, make sure they change it back after (you will keep your apps anyway) so you have the right GIN apps lists in the future...
