Hey all, I've been waiting for this phone since April...checking the forum daily. But as of lately (as you've prob seen) I've been reading so much negative feedback on here. "The camera sucks", "I've got dust under the lens", "The pic id is cheesy" or "It's been over hyped." I'm starting to think I shoulld just go for the VX-7000 instead. Anybody have any advice? 😕

You have to expect all the complaints, just because of all the delays and hype; it is human nature. Focus on the positives, read all those positive user reviews- there are many more positive than negative. If the VX7000 was hyped up and delayed as much as this phone, it too would have failed expectations. Hey, we've waited this long, might as well give it a shot...

if your all about the camera go get the 7000. I'm hopeful it will be improved by firmware, but I really don't care too much about the cam. To my knowledge all the other problems can be easily fixed with firmware. they are just timing and protocol issues ect. I love my friends phone it is very solid. A lot of options. I have yet to hear any real functional problems. ear piece volume is relative to the user. So I say stick with the v710. worse case you get it, don't like it and return it within 15days The best part is this is verizons first phone to offer the ability to add free ringtones and pics through the use of transflash( really works well I have personally done a lot of testing on my friends phone so I can back up my opinions ). good lu...

Why doesn't someone who owns this phone post some pictures that have been taken with the V710 so everyone can judge for themselves how the quality of the camara is? Post pictures taken outdoor as well as indoor.

This will help a lot of people who are only interested in the camera make the correct decision on whether or not to purchase this phone.

General question, not ragging on anything: do 1.2 mega-pixel cameras normally remind people of painting with melted crayons?

That's the effect I've seen in several of these photos...

When will people realize that image quality has little to do with megapixels!! If you have a noisy, lousy image it doesn't matter how big you make it!! You need to start with a high quality lens and image sensor. Then add in high quality processing with little or no compression. Sorry but the V710 pics are terrible. But then it's a phone.

You make WAY too much sense for this forum(!)

To date, cell phone cameras have simply been to record subject and information, NOT to create masterpieces worthy of hanging on a wall. I know that day will come, but for now, this is what we have.

I still say that my v710 will do a better job taking pictures than my digital camera will m...

its a phone not a camera and as far as the quality well to me is superb because i never had a camera phone still with the trusty v60i but i mean for those that complain well unless you plannin on saving money and using v710's camera as you family camera, relax....have fun with the phone
