Verizon phones rings for 25 seconds and the ringtone ripper cut mp3's at 20 sec. Anyone knows of any other program to edit the lengh of the ringtones?
...
i used itunes to make my ringtones. i have 'em al long as 48 sec. i posted how i did it earlier in this forum but i am to lazy to look for it. go to today at about 10:30 or so an look at my post

to make songs ring tones this is how i did it.
1) i used itunes (free download by the way) and cut the song into about a 30 to 40 sec clip at 96kbs ( small enough tnot to take up to much room. in the pref u can set the quality of the mp3)
When the song is highlighted in itunes hit ctrl + i and one of the tabs will have a start stop area. just put the time of the clip u want in there.
then under edit hit convert to mp3. a new song will apear in the list. drag it to the desk top
2) rename so it ends in .mid
3)drag to yor flash card
4) put the card back into the phone
5) move the files from card to phone
6) go to phone book, edit, ringtone
all my friends have their own song
hope this helps

THANKS!
Ringtone Ripper is now useless! Your iTunes method is so much more convenient since I already have iTunes on my computer for my iPod mini.
This also solves of Ringtone Ripper making the song 20 seconds long, when the phone ring for 25 seconds
Thanks again!

Okay, I have iTunes, but how do I save the 25second file w/o changing my original file?
...
after u designate the section u want ( hit play to make sure it is what u want) goto edit and convert to mp3.
then hit play and a new clip should apear in your playlist. drag that to the desktop, rename and put on your flash card. I then moved it to the phone memory and off the card. not sure if this is nessesary for a ring tone but it was advice given to me and it worked

After I enter start and stop info in iTunes and click okay, it just takes me back to the Library. There is not an edit tab on the vers I'm using. Am I skipping a step here?

right click on the song, on one of the tabs it has 2 boxes for start and stop. enter the time to start and stop the song and click on OK.
drag the song to your desktop. rename it.

Anyone know why I wouldn't be able to receive the files if they're correctly changed over and renamed. I just keep getting messages with the URL to the VZWPix.com site. I checked my account online and I have picture messaging and I have the VZWPix.com email address all fine.
