Verizon store & 2 year contract
Just an fyi..
I have been calling back and forth to radioshack and verizon to sort out pricing and contracts. Finally the guy at verizon told me that since I am eligable for the early upgrade,(no new every2) that I can purchase the phone from a verizon store when it is released, and I will not have to sign a new 2 year contract, but I will get the phone at the 2 year contract rate, 319 - 70 mail in.
The radioshack stores which I called, all gave me the same pricing, but all insisted that I needed to resign my 2 year contract.

I have a hunch that Verizon will NOT give you the phone for the 2 year price without signing a 2 year contract. They may do the upgrade early at the Verizon store versus the RadioShack, but you're probably going to have to sign the contract.

I hope not. I called verizon 3 times to verify this is the case. The last rep I spoke with said this can only be done with In house purchases, not through radioshack.
I guess I will hold out for the week and keep my fingers crossed.

Some one is not telling you the truth. VZW or RS will not sell you the phone with subsidized price without any service contract. Why, VZW don't make the phone, they actually "BUY" the phones from Motorola. They have either selling the phone with full retail price or using the service contract to make the money. No one is in the business to loss money.
