I had trouble all morning trying to get my Ipaq to dial up to the V710 bluetooth modem.
I just figured it out!
press the menu key on your phone and quickly press 073887* the password is 000000
go to data rates and change it to 14.4 / 14.4
exit out and the pda should now connect.
...
😲 huh??
pressing menu 0 will give an error...i'm trying to figure this out so i appreciate your guidance!
...
press the menu key from the main screen (very top center button
when the menu opens press 073887* quickly
the security code is 000000 (six zeros)
I hope this clarifies how to do it

What screen are you starting from?
...
hit the end key to get out of wherever you are.
as soon as you hit the menu button type in the numbers
this must be done QUICKLY
...
Well I'll be damned.... I tried for the last two hours to get a connection from my Mac OS X Powerbook, and all I got was "authentication failed". As soon as I did this, it worked immediately.
THANKS!!!!
...
Ok, I did what you said and changed the data rate... but still getting same error. I setup a 'connection' per directions i saw on Howard Forums with the #777 number. Is that correct, or is there something else I should have done? Is 14.4 the fastest... or can we get faster? thanks.
...
dunno if it will work faster...
What error are you getting?
...
I kept getting 'failed to connect' type error... but i took out the dialing string i found from howard forums... and now it just keeps saying 'wrong username or password' but i have username as MYNUMBER (my actual number) @ vzw3g.com and PW is vwz
what am i doing wrong? it still does not work.
...
solution was posted bout 3 hours ago on this forum.....sorry but you will just have to wade through the others to find it.....it had same title as your message just no RE line
...
I did the baud rate thing... no effect. is that what you are talking about?
...
Nevermind, i think i got it to work.... I changed the data rate BACK to the factory default and then it worked. Not sure the instructions above are accurate.
...
nope...keep wading...it just in their. if no effect, call in and ask for the wireless data group...you will need to be transferred to either tier 2 or 3 before you get a jackass that knows what he is doing. DO NOT CALL FROM YOUR V710 as you will need to do some programming on it

I tried this on my IPAQ 1945 and it still didn't work. Has anyone else gotten their ipaq 1945 to dial out of the v710 using this method?
