I haven't heard anyone else mentioning anything lately about the phone scratching itself, am I to assume its not noticable or it does not exist? what has been your expierence?

Mine doesn't scratch itself at all. Perfect space between the hinges.

Yea, There's a little rubber protector thing at the hinge so that it wont scratch. Does the RS version have that?

wow what a relief. That problem alone was the one thing hindering me from buying the phone.

Give it a few days! That rubber is what scratches the face plate. Once there is a little dust in between the hinge and you open the flip it will scratch it. ALL PHONES ARE THE SAME. Use a thin strip of pda screen protector right above the camera lens. This is the only way to stop it.

I believe the scratches the original poster was referring to are the ones created by the keypad rubbing on the internal screen.

The case had just come in when I was picking mine up, so I have not see this problem.

Mine has the rubber hinge too, but it has created some superficial scratches, and unless you look for them, they are not really that noticeable.

Another item to note, is that when the phone is closed, it will have a tendency to rub against the keypad and may cause fine scratches there too...I also have that flaw. However, with the wallpaper enabled on the phone, I can't tell that they are there at all unless the screen is black and held at an angle.

Hope that answers your questions.

Well, I scratch myself all the time. So I guess it's fitting that my phone would do so also.

Yeah, I know. But the leather case protects it on the screens.

I have both the hinge related and the screen related scratches. I bought my phone at RS last week. Yeah, the rubber on the hinge is on the RS phones too, but it doesn't stop it.

I will be going with a screen protector in those 2 locations from now on...even with a case because the finish on this phone seems really hard to keep clean/keep scratches off.
