Bluetooth with LS430

I'm having trouble making the connection and it sounds like Lexus has no experience with non-Nokia or Sony phones. I went into "options", "telephone", "settings", "bluetooth" "add phone" and I get a screen that says to input a 4 digit code into the phone to establish the connection. The phone is on and I went to settings, bluetooth, power on, find me, and input the 4 digit code with and without pushing enter and no connection is established. I am going to see if the phone sees a wireless headset to help figure out if it is the car or phone that is the issue. Any help would be appreciated.

What do you mean with out pushing enter? The steps that you listed seem correct.

I have a 2003 LS430...

I played with the Bluetooth headset which had better instructions than the V710 manual. I got the two hooked up and also have the problem of no ring tone with an incoming call on my 2004. Were you able to transfer your phone book? I tried to set up the one touch dials which certainly were not intuitive and I will have to hit the books again.

I have the 2004 Lexus LS430 and have also been trying to figure it out.

At least I have gotten to the point when I get in the car with the v710, the nav screen confirms a bluetooth connection. Under car settings on the phone, I checked "Auto Answer" 5 seconds and when the phone detects an incomming call, the radio mutes and the word "conversation" a...

My verizon saleperson tells me that the new firmware is to correct a Camera issue and will not address the phone book problem ... but who knows.

I have a Lexus LX 470. My v710 functions basically, but I have no phone book transfer capability at all. I have to signal strength meter. I have no audible incoming ring.

The quality of the speaker/phone when using it isnt perfect, but it does allow me to be totall hands free, and without having to use any dorky wires or ear pieces. There is no way both people can speak at the same time really...not in my experience.

I too have a LS430 and I'm having the same problems that everyone else is talking about. The problem is with Motorola and not Lexus. Why? About a month ago, I tried a Moto Bluetooth V-600 from Cingular, and the V600 worked perfectly with the Lexus, transfering the phone book and all, but now the V710 doesn't work with the Lexus, so it has to be a Moto's software problem. I am really surprised that Verizon put this piece of crap on the market at this time.

I also tried a V600 and I recall getting a ring. At least if there is a firmware update, I'm glad it is on the phone and not the car. I haven't been reading this forum for a while and was surprised to see that there will be a transmission recall. I already had my fuel pump fail. If you ask the Verizon salespeople, they didn't release this phone soon enough since we were expecting this months ago.

I just got a new 430 and searched for a bluetooth phone. a very nice Cingular sales guy sat in my car with the Motorola RAZR v3, no good. the numbers in the address book would only move to the car's mailbox one at a time. Back in the store he talked to both Moto and Lexus ... and that's it. No go. They car and the phone can't do what they should.

We then tried an 'old' Sony Ericsson phone and the phone book transfered in seconds, all 80+ numbers.

Needless to say I got the $100 phone not the $500 phone.

BUT

The sound quality over the speaker is dreadful. It sounds like the every person is talking from inside a garbage can to me.

Lastly,

It appears the phone/lexus combination is half duplex. I can't talk when the...
