convert it to a midi file and send it as an attachment. however, the file cannot be big, so I you must shorten it to less than 30 seconds and bring the quality to 96 kbs. Best way to transfer is to get a transflash card.

you have to change it on your computer to .mid -- go to control panel, folder options, view, then unclick "hide extensions for known file types." then click on the name of the file and just type in .mid over .mp3.

if i recall correctly, and i don't know if this ever got fixed, but VZW only had attachments working in full with MS Outlook. I can send mid files with Mail.app on my mac, but not pics. When i send a pic i get a .txt attachment, and a drop and blah blah blah. maybe same type of issue?

Hey nakago5000 - did you change mp3 to mid on your Mac or are you just sending midi? Been trying to turn mid to mp3 so that I can get this to the phone but just changing the extension on the mac doesn't change the type like it would on a PC.

I ended up taking the mp3 to my pc rename it with .mid then emailed to my phone via hotmail web page. Worked fine.

With the pic, maybe try logging onto the .mac site (if yo uhave a .mac account) and sending email from the web page.

I had this same problem, you need to rename the mp3 to .mid and make sure the content type of the attachment is audio/midi and NOT audio/x-midi

how do you change the content type to audio/midi and not audio/x-midi?

i renamed an mp3 to .mid, emailed it to my vzwpix, got the text message, but when i tried opening the file, it said "system error." when i tried saving the file, it said, "system error." the file is only 300kb, and compressed to 80kbit.

what am i doing wrong?? i followed everyone's directions, but i still can't get the song to play.

my largest clip emailed was 344 kb. I wouldn't try going too much further than that.

i am having exact same prob, going to toy around some more and i'll get back with results. on the walmart site, is everyone right clicking the "listen" option to save target as? my file extension is .asx, not .mp3 so i'm wondering if that's what i'm doing wrong?
