WAP - Who has it working with the 710?
Now that I have my 710 I've been following this the last 3 days. All I've found is various partial configuation information and people reponding is all they get is a timeout message.
In order that we all can get a clear configuration below you will find all the information fields that need to be completed by someone who has it working today. I figured if I typed them all it would make it easier for someone who has it working to fill them in. I have one request. If there is a field that needs to be completed by the individual and (i.e. password) don't leave it blank. Just say "needs user info". My feeling is that this might have been the problem. Anyway the following are the fields you see when you go MENU==>MOBILE WEB==>WEB SESSION...

WAP uses minutes. If you have unlimited N and WK then yes, it would be free.

im seriously considering getting wap added 2 my service since the v710 screen is so clear..how is everyone liking it? any feedback, what you can do with it, etc..would be greatly appreciated..thanks!

It doesn't matter. You can have different settings and still have it work. Sometimes I use an WAP service instead, which uses port 9201.

I do. I paid the 4.99/per month...which is LESS than I was paying (7.99) on my old contract for WAP 1.0
I made sure VZ Tech programmed it in and I tried out before leaving the store.
I've had absolutely no problems. Its one of the few areas I've found to be a 100% improvement over VZW with MSN.
Am not crazy about the way they set up the homescreen, but you can add your own WAP bookmarke either on the phone or going to the new VZ web site, which is found under G.I.N.and entering them.
I've got my Yahoo on the front page, and will try putting more into favorites when I have time.
Frankly I think it's worth the 4.99 month
if you use it heavily. Instead of having to put POP mail accounts on my phone, I use Yahoo Mail to retrie...

yes. it's no IE explorer...I use it for the same 3 or 4 sites..mail,scores, and don't expect it to door more.

Just to make sure, it uses minutes, so since I have unlimited nights & weekends, it's free right?
I thought I heard someone mention that they might charge by the amount a data transfer instead or something? Can you please clear this up for me?
