Can someone please explain why I have to change my mp3 file to a .mid file to email it to my phone which plays mp3's supposedly? I'm confused.
Also, I haven't had any luck with mailing a .mid file to my phone. I read someone saying it is the size of the file so I'll make the file smaller but my other question is this: What do you do after you receive the email and you're viewing it? What menu command do you use? Please explain.
Greatly appreciate it. Love this phone but would love it more if I could do all the things I think I'm supposed to be able to do. 😁

I am having the same problem, but mainly with emailing mid files. the file size does not seem to be a constraint because it is well under 220k. for some reason it did not post my whole error msg but it keeps dropping my attachments. I tried to change it to MP3 format and email it and that did not work.
Any advice would greatly be appreciated!

the mp3 (renamed .mid) has to be less than 30 seconds in length...file size isn't an issue i think because i've sent a few files that were close to 400k and they worked fine, but i tried sending a file that was 30 seconds exactly multiple times and that did not work...the other 2 files i sent were 28 seconds and they worked fine
...
the file i sent was 22 seconds and it still doesn't work. the file that gets attached becomes a .txt file stating that the .mid file attachment was dropped.
any inputs?
what email acct did you use to send it? yahoo? aol?

I just read somewhere not too long ago that if you send it from YAHOO! the attatchment won't get dropped. Try that, hope it works. Lemme know if it does!!

I've sent one successful song through vzwpix.com - there is a file size limit though. I'm compressing my songs to fit.

i've tried both sbc (yahoo) and gmail, both worked fine

Ok so once it gets to ur phone then what do u do??
...
once it gets to your phone, open the message from your inbox and press the middle option key to bring up the menu. go down and select save items and it will ask you "save what?" pick "file" it will say file type not recognized just ignore that and scroll down to the bottom where it shows the attachments, there should be a .txt file and a .midi file. select the .midi file and press ok, it will then ask you if you would like to store it or apply as a ring tone
...
When i go to save -> file, as noted, i get "file type not recognized" i do not have any other options after that. it goes back to the msg where I just was. when i try and access the file i again get " attachment dropped: < 46.mid> of type:
then my only option is "back"
this happens when i try and save or open the file

When i click on save items my only options are email address and quick text. Any suggestion

this reason is because assuming you use vzwpix.com you can't send mp3's over it. Your phone can play mp3's but you cant send them over that website for some reason so you have to change the file to a .mid so you can send it. Also i noticed that the file has to be under 250 k for it to be small enough to send over vzwpix.com
